…so a whole new level of violence can spread around the world.
So how long before someone who has been catapulted, by whatever mechanism, especially someone with a family connection to Islam, will comprehend the analogy of the “strong horse” from the Islamic viewpoint?
He speaks of the US Military as tho it is some out of control make work governmental organization, and not the vehicle by which we “provide for the common defense.” He wants to bring home the troops, yet not all that long ago, he said the service needed to be enlarged. I’m confused, either they are already too bloated and a waste of tax dollars, or we need to increase the payroll and associated support systems and programs, in addition to placing a future burden on the economy of military retirement and disability payments.
Obama is actively sowing the seeds of the most difficult recruiting environment in my life time, worse than even the Vietnam era, when at least the President had respect for those would would serve. It is likely, when (not if) faced with “sending the Army back to Iraq,” that he will need the Congress to re-institute the draft. That will make for interesting politics, when even wild eyed anti-war men will now be “eligible” for “active character building experiences.”
Not to mention the logistical lift capacity required to re-constitute a major war-fighting capability within Iraq, once we have departed. That discussion of his abject inability to grasp that there is no magic wand we wave and heavy military equipment and the support infrastructure appears where we desire it. Had he bothered to follow the actual battle fought from Kuwait to the Northern borders of Iraq in 2003, he might have a small amount of appreciation for the effort that would be required to do it all over again. Then consider doing it with out paying for improvements to the services.
Top off the above issues with his resistance to the FISA exempting TelComms from liability. Recall the exceptional critisism of the CIA, FBI and DIA in the 9/11 Commission report, and we had a FISA law that allowed us to listen in, with the aid of the telephone companies. Project yourself into the future and try to comprehend something like this from a future report of a WMD attack within our borders:
Executive Summary:
In the opinion of this panel, the total lack of cooperation of the telecomminications companies was the a key factor in the inability of the President and the FBI to receive the intelligence required to make the decisions necessary to prevent the detonation of the low level atomic weapon on Wall Street on July 4th, 2009. The FISA legislation of early 2009, which removed the liability protection for privately held companies, created an almost total blackout of substantive intercepts, that could have allowed the specific intelligence and warning indicators supporting preemptive actions to eliminate the threat.
There was no redundant COMINT capability within any law enforcement or military agencies capable of filling the gap left by the pull out of major firms from their prior agreements to assist the FBI, CIA and DIA, thereby allowing al-Qaeda operatives to communicate with their logistical and technical contacts within the US at will, free of any fear of the detection of their activities.
As we get closer to the actual General Election, will he speak more derisively of those who have left their families, some of whom have not returned alive, or intact, so he and his wife can finally be proud of America, as though there is nothing else to be proud of in this great nation? He will increasingly attack those who support the protection of companies who assist the Government in protecting us, yet he is effectively deafening himself, isolating himself from the very information he needs to make correct decisions. Interestingly enough, he acts as though President Bush lied about WMD in Iraq, yet, if Obama gets his way, he will have almost no way of knowing what any terrorists are doing, especially when our allies have been threatened with attacks for not doing things his way. That, in fact, leads to another paradox: We have lost our “likability” around the world. Does Obama really think our allies will take kindly to him dictating to them as to how they should handle their affairs, with a veiled threat of military action? No, they will despise us even more than now as they think we have over-reached our role outside our borders.
The impetus for this stream of consciousness was triggered by this, unfortunately probably right on target analysis, saying, if elected, an Obama Presidency will lead to increased levels of bloodshed, not less:
The prospects for an Obama presidency (blogs the Daily Mail’s, Don Surber) has international newspaper columnists worried.
Add Greg Sheridan, foreign editor of the Australian, to the list of members of the foreign press who worry about a President Obama.
In a column in the Australian, “This is no time for a celebrity in the Oval Office,” Sheridan reasoned that far from calming the Middle East, a President Obama might trigger a a new Middle East war.
Sheridan joins Gerard Baker of the Times of London and Gabor Steingart of Der Spiegel in warning Americans that this is not Amateur Hour when it comes to foreign policy.
The civilized world looks to America for leadership and intestinal fortitude when it comes to standing up to evil — not fealty and Kumbaya when dealing with tyranny in the world. Heed the warning.
[…]
We know Osama bin Laden’s speech writers take their text from the MSM. IN this case, they will be taking their lead about what is being said of Obama: He does not want to kinetically engage the actual enemy, he wants to talk with them. He wants to militarily strike those countries who have supported us, albeit imperfectly, in the GWoT. I get this image of a man castrating himself in front of his adversaries, and then trying to tell us how he can protect us. Sorry about the explicit imagery, but he says he will turn the friends against us, will “asking” our enemies to join with us, the ones who have a small lexicon, and the communication method of choice happens to be the use of explosives and large, edged weapons in the taking of innocent life.
A summary? Obama’s own policies will put us at risk from almost even avenue in international relations, and he believes his ways will do the opposite. He is too immature to comprehend the danger ahead. His supporters are equally complicit in setting us on a path of destruction, and his economic polices to cripple us aren’t even my area of understanding to address.
My prayers will be for the country to see the path of very real disaster we can choose to take, or not, depending on what legacy we desire to leave to our children and theirs. We need a strong horse now. The Islamic violence lovers hope we do not choose one. That, in itself is telling. 5 years from now will be too late for too many people, in our country and aboard.
Based on the remarks of Obama in the last week, I have no confidence in his ability to properly wield the most powerful military force in history and less in his ability to select the men and women who will advise him in such matters, as his “filters” will project his lack of understanding of the world as it is onto those who he thinks are themselves knowledgeable at their potential appointments in the very top levels of Government.

Satire? You decide…I hope Michelle Obama gives it a serious read and reconsiders just how far things have come, even if we have a ways to go yet.

Obama wants us all to unite as Americans. So does George W. Bush, and many presidents before him. Why must we do it now, and who in their right minds think it can be done? Better yet, who in their right mind would want it done, except those seeking a uniform citizenry of “yes people.”
Last time I checked, Hitler wanted it that way, Lenin, Stalin and Mao, too. How about Pol Pot? How about Saddam Hussein? How about Ahmadinijad? Now, Obama is saying he will “unite us.”
If we do unite, is it Obama’s way or the highway? If we do unite, do we not loose the very thing that has made things difficult, yet better, speaking of the manner in which we respectfully disagree?
Lately I’ve been reminded of a place called Jonestown way south of here, when I hear how Obama will unite us all. Sad, but, please, don’t drink any Kool Aid you’re offered, K?
Stay tuned, for “Obamarama” will be playing on TVs, radios and theaters, not to mention live venues near you!
If you want some real Obama positions on the issues, check this out…it’s his own words.

Important Safety Information
Barack Hussein Obama is a Democratic candidate that combines two primary features, Socialism® (Marxism) and Liberalism® (progressivistic moonbattery). Barack Hussein Obama is used to treat Bush Derangement Syndrome, a disease that causes high blood pressure, dementia, anxiety, and intellectual constipation.
Barack Hussein Obama is not for everyone. It is not for those with common sense, entrepeneurs, legal immigrants, families, or those who fear a healthcare system that works as well as the DMV. If you vote for Barack Hussein Obama, tell your doctor if if you feel muscle pain, weakness, or a sudden onset of guilt. This could be a sign that you realize what you’ve done: i.e., doomed the American people to four years of Jimmy Carter with a better speaking voice. The most common side effects are hypnotic nodding, four-month waits for MRI’s, and a lighter wallet. These side effects tend to dissipate after you either lose the will to live or if you die while awaiting medical treatment.

We in the western world have spent our lives, blessed with freedoms unheard of in many parts of the world, even today. In reading this article, I noted the several jobs this man applied to have. Isn’t it interesting what “set” of information that would have given him, especially when coupled with his statements about “aggressive use” of an airplane. Intimate working knowledge of the air traffic control system (operational timing issues would be important, as well as the “normal” communications procedures) and baggage handling (just exactly how are bags screened in for loading int he cargo holds and where there may be “penetration points”). Most of us would find a job in a professional field to compliment our already working knowledge, with hopes of gleaning more info in order to ask for, and expect, a greater payment for our understanding.
Anyhow, here’s the link to “Accused terrorist may have been planning airline attack: CSIS” from the Canadian Press. Get these parts:
OTTAWA - A Montreal man accused of terrorist ties displayed secretive and violent behaviour and once discussed comandeering a commercial aircraft for “aggressive ends,” Canada’s spy service alleges.
The Canadian Security Intelligence Service accusations against Morocco-born Adil Charkaoui came late Friday as the federal government renewed its efforts to deport five Muslim men with alleged terrorist links.
Ottawa filed updated national security certificates against the five - including some pointed fresh assertions - following recent passage of new legislation.
[…]
Now, isn’t that interesting? Canada has passed legislation to deport those with known terrorist connections? They are a step ahead of us, who won’t even mention the word “deport” anymore for fear of a massive demonstration on our front lawn…Let’s pray, for once, an idea from Canada, is imported to the US.
Now onto the salient points of the article:
[…]
Charkaoui, a landed immigrant from Morocco, was arrested in Montreal in May 2003, accused of being an al-Qaida sleeper agent prepared to wage terror attacks against western targets. He denies the allegations.
CSIS claims convicted terrorist Ahmed Ressam has identified Charkaoui as being present at an al-Qaida training camp in Afghanistan.
The newly filed documents say that in November 2001, Charkaoui described the war in Afghanistan as a battle against Islam “led by the wicked and the Crusaders.”
In June 2000, Charkaoui allegedly had a conversation with two others about their apparent desire to take control of a commercial plane for aggressive purposes.
The CSIS papers say he once applied to work in the air traffic control operations at Air Canada and, later, had an interest in working in the baggage section of Mirabel airport.
The spy service suggests the job search, taken in connection with the earlier conversation, may have been part of the “planning of an attack.”
The documents allege Charkaoui has shown violent and impulsive behaviour, once beating up a delivery man. And they say in 1999 he discussed car theft, namely that he had contacts in Morocco interested in luxury vehicles.
[…]
There you have it. Bad actor in general, connection to bad guys, and…the triple play: Wants jobs to get him “briefed in” to how things work around airliners.
As I type, the question that comes to mind is: Why deport him? Answer, I’m sure, is “we don’t have anything he acted on.” How many years before we read his name in connection with something not good?
A few moments ago, I heard a radio commentator say Chuck Colson recently said, while discussing the current state of the religious conflict world wide, that most Muslims understand their own religion and Christianity better than Christians understand their own, and the dangerous part is they are willing to die for it.
I’d like to respectfully disagree with Chuck Colson: They are willing to kill for it. That is an entirely different mental posture in place. It is offensive by it’s very definition, and I’m not including the emotionally over done emotional use of the term “offensive.” Military units and businesses go on the offensive in order to take from their competitors. Christianity, by it’s nature, is defensive, as are most other religious disciplines. Islam seeks to not just take hearts and minds, but the land beneath your feet, and all that you have worked for in your life, and then, if you resist, they will take your life. Mohammad himself did it. Jesus, Buddha, and the rest did nothing of the sort, instead they gave. And, specifically in the case of Jesus, he laid his life down for others, but did not take lives in doing so. Islam teaches and preaches the taking of life. Some who may say “well, not all Muslims are like that!” I agree. I’d also suggest there are many Christians who would deny their faith and try to avoid the “label” so as to not have to die. The fail safe in Christianity is that the zealot or the barely believing one isn’t going to try to take a life. In Islam, the zealot is going to try to take life, along with their own, but the marginally believing one will shy away from causing any harm.
In article such as the one from the Canadian Press, we see one more, all too frequent scenario where people with connections to the radical elements of the religion (that’s rapidly becoming a mis-categorization in my mind, but that’s an entire other post) are, or, as with the 9/11 19, did, seek “jobs” that allowed them the knowledge to take many lives, and not to better their financial lot in life.
This is a good segway into an article by Linda Kimball in the American Thinker: The Materialism of Communism, Socialism and Liberalism.” It takes the discussion further, mostly in the vein as to why this is occurring. I especially enjoyed this quote:
“There is a madness in today’s liberal thinking. It insists on policies that tie our hands to defend ourselves while given free reign to the jihadists intent on killing us. It is dangerous because it is becoming the law, and thinking of the land in the western world. (Liberal Madness is Deadly (1/24/08))
Then read this and have a great day…

We should all be concerned when a would-be First Lady says she has “never really been proud of my country until now.” It is a warning about how radical an Obama presidency would be.
At a campaign rally in Madison, Wis., on Monday, the wife of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., declared: “Let me tell you something. For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country.”
An editorial in Investors Business Daily comments:
Is ignorance the culprit here, or is it ingratitude — or perhaps an unhealthy mix of the two?
Michelle Obama was born in 1964, so her adulthood began in 1982. Is there really nothing about America she could think of to be proud of over the past quarter-century? How about the way firefighters, EMT personnel, police and ordinary people sacrificed to help each other in the aftermath of 9/11?
Maybe she forgot about the billions we gave in charity after the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami killed hundreds of thousands and left homeless over a million more, contributions dwarfing those of other countries — including hundreds of millions of dollars from those evil American corporations.
She may have been unaware that the U.S. military mobilized an aircraft carrier battle group and dispatched numerous strategic and tactical airlifters, plus dozens of Navy and Marine Corps helicopters, in efforts that ranged from search-and-rescue to disaster relief. The Navy also deployed the 1,000-bed hospital ship USNS Mercy.
By the way, a quick look at the census life expectancy tables show that American blacks in 1982 could expect to live just 69.4 years. Due to improvements in medicine and greater access to care, today it’s 74 years of expected life. She’s not proud of that?
Even if she was unaware of all this, which is highly unlikely, shouldn’t the fact that a black woman from the south side of Chicago can graduate from two Ivy League schools itself be enough to make Mrs. Obama proud of such a country?
The fact that it doesn’t indicates a radical mind-set that does not appreciate what makes America great — and a presidency that would be destructive of the country’s greatness.
We need to be very concerned about an Obama Presidency. Aside from being the most liberal Senator in the Senate, he and his wife are radicals who believe in European-type socialism. Further, because of his inexperience in foreign policy, he is relying on foreign policy advisors who have been notoriously anti-Israel and sympathetic to the “oppressed” Palestinians. Warning! Danger Ahead!

Note, however, how a trend of murderous minds like to document their work. Great for historians and War Crimes lawyers, but horrible that someone had the be the subjects of these monsters.

For the last 5 years, we have been witness to the explosions of virtual heads all over this land about a president lying to us. You know, the WMD thing.
Would we all really get just as concerned if we happened to elect one for this time around…who really did lie about something pretty significant, something he did not have to rely on anyone else on the planet to know?

The topic of “Angry White Men” has bubbled to the surface once again. I smell fear from the generally not very loyal opposition in the air.
Here are my thoughts extracted from a reply to this post. It reads like it’s too someone, because it is, but it addressed my developed (as I typed) thoughts on the subject, coming into this politics-on-steroids environment:
Well, Skippy, come November, all will be right in the Universe, as Bush will no longer be the Prez, nor will another Bush. Congratulations, you can focus your energy back on Pat Schroeder.
No, you have it wrong. The race will include running against all of the previous presidents. It’s called history. BDS is a passing issue, but what it will come to is a transmogrification into either ODS or CDS or MDS. Take that to the bank. We have already had “people” proclaim themselves to be like JFK. I’m sure Woodrow Wilson’s isolationism, FDR’s massive job creation and social program works, as well as LBJ’s Great Society will come back. I also noted a “like Nixon went to China” comment about how Obama will meet with our enemies. I bet there will be lots more ghosts of presidencies past to be faced and exorcised, or adopted, before this all ends. Me? I like mine with a little Washington and Jefferson sprinkled on top…but not too much, please.
Sort of a side note: BDS is a crutch of the hopefuls, positioning themselves now, so they can make their problems his, even after he no longer resides in the White House. Take that one to the bank, also. And the media will use it all the time to excuse poor, or lack of, leadership. Interesting, I just realized it’s purposeful pre-emptive excuse making before our very eyes.
Why with BDS, now well established, remain with us, but in a new form? Simple. I credit the “regime of self-esteem” (my 6th original thought) education that has taught people that feeling are more important than logic at all times and if individuals aren’t feeling “good” then the external cause is to be blamed, hence BDS. The “team” isn’t important, YOU are, kind of brain washing. Implied in that, the team doesn’t care about YOU, just them. And, somehow, much of the nation has swallowed that line whole and didn’t even gag, or ask questions. OTOH, we love our NFL/AFL/NHL/NBA and college teams with a passion, coz, you know, they are all about the “team.” What’s up with that obvious dichotomy?
Add to it that the educational system has failed to teach, and the “reporters” (actually now “editorialists”) fail to remind us, that the Office of the President of the United States does not control all that happens in this country., specifically as a result of a document that seems to be quite inconvenient many days, what with it’s 1st, 2nd and 4th amendments, as well as a few others.
Congress has been “flying under the RADAR” for decades, no longer having to sweat out being called on the carpet for not doing the work of the people.
No one person can make a utopia, no one person alone can bring us down. We’ll be better when we take our medicine and figure out how each of us can fix things, instead of acting like spoiled little children demanding we have it our way.
We have Code Pink, the Troofers, La Raza, the City Council of Berkeley and the list goes on. Those groups seem to collect angry people who have been photographed, videoed, and captured in print being angry. Other than Neo-Nazi groups assembling, just where do we have tens of thousands of “angry white men” meeting for demonstrations? It doesn’t happen. Yes, there are individuals, but no mass demonstrations.
“Angry white men” are mostly a construction to focus the opposition, while other “angry” groups hit the streets…and are never called on their rage, for it would be unkind of us to point their own behavior out to them in such “judgmental” language.
You may be able to claim the title of “Angry White Man,” and trademark it. I’ve been reading your stuff for a while now.
Geez, I just had a thought. Someone with some real talent (certainly not me) could do a spoof based on a Maaco’ s “Uh, OH!” commercials. The words, to fix this “wrecked country” could be “Better get Marx!” (holding up the Communist Manifesto.”)
