(The ad copy below is running in tomorrow’s Somerset Daily American.)
My son Tom confronted a terrible moment of truth. Faced with a plot against our nation, he and the other heroes of Flight 93 fought back, and at the cost of their lives, foiled that plot to destroy the White House or the Capitol. Now it is time for the rest of us to face our moment of truth. Flight 93 has been re-hijacked, and I am requesting that if you can, you go down to the public meeting of the Memorial Project at Somerset Courthouse Saturday, sign up to comment at the end, and demand that a proper investigation be conducted.
THIS was no accident:
The Memorial Project held an open design competition in time of war, inviting the entire world to enter. Guess who joined in? That group of trees that sits roughly in the position of the star on an Islamic flag is the crash site. Who do YOU think is being memorialized here?
A second Islamic feature that I also protested when I served on the Stage II jury is the minaret-like Tower of Voices, formed in the shape of a crescent, with its top cut at an angle so that its crescent arms reach up into the sky.
Upturned crescents are a standard mosque adornment in many Muslim countries.
Every iota of this original Crescent of Embrace design remains completely intact in the so-called “redesign.” That is why Congressman Tancredo asked the Park Service this autumn to scrap the existing design entirely. Instead of getting rid of the giant crescent as Tancredo demanded back in 2005, architect Paul Murdoch only disguised it with a few surrounding trees.
Also remaining are those damned 44 glass blocks on the flight path. (There were forty passengers and crew and four Islamic terrorists on Flight 93.) The Memorial Project acknowledges the 40 blocks inscribed with the names of my son and the other heroes, and they acknowledge the three inscribed with the 9/11 date, but they pretend not to know about this one: the huge glass block that dedicates the entire site.
When this 44th glass block is pointed out, Project Partners say that it can’t be counted with the other blocks because it is not the same size. What? Because the capstone to the terrorist memorializing block count is magnificent, that is supposed to make it okay?
For every Islamic or terrorist memorializing feature of the crescent design, the Park Service has another equally phony excuse. Please read the exposé below of the Park Service’s fraudulent investigation, and please come to the meeting on Saturday to demand state and Congressional investigations into the Flight 93 memorial.
Tom Burnett Sr.

It’s sad that a man who lost his son on Flight 93 isn’t able to take some solace from the memorial because of this desperate, disgusting, and completely insane conspiracy nonsense. I hope that by the time the memorial is completed Mr. Burnett comes to see this memorial for what it is–a commemoration of the courage his son and the other Flight 93 passengers displayed, a place to reflect on their lives and the sacrifice they were forced to make.
For the colossal scumbags who keep propagating this nonsense, my hope is that they continue to stew in the corrosive brine of hatred, cowardice and stupidity they seem to enjoy wallowing in. A semi-circle becomes an Islamic crescent. A copse of trees becomes a star. A tower, transformed as if by magic into a minaret. This would all be laugh-out-loud funny if it wasn’t for the somber event they’re trying to co-opt for their own hateful ends. Disgusting. I’d say you should be ashamed but I’d have to direct you to a dictionary first so you could find out what it means.

It’s sad that the victims’ families were lied to about this despicable mosque to the Al Qaeda terrorists.
Despite broadbrushing this as ‘a conspiracy theory’, sadly, there were 19 hijackers on 9/11, and they are all memorialized in this Flight 93 memorial to the terrorists. The Flight 93 hijackers got a little more recognition. But hey, their bodies are buried here. It’s a memorial mosque…of that there can be little doubt…unless you’re a blind moonbat who refuses to see the crescent and stars and agrees with any of the stupid excuses the apologists for sharia are making for it.
The law says the terrorists are to be excluded from the definition of passengers and crew; therefore it is an insult to the memory of the Americans who died that this thing is riddled with Islamic symbolism in the memorial that is to pay homage to the Americans.
Not to mention that it’s a MOSQUE… paid for with government money like it would be in Saudi Arabia.
Why not pay attention to a man who is defending his son’s memory? Instead of insult him?
Is it only the terrorist sympathizing Cindy Sheehans of the world that people like you pay attention to?

yootoo;
Can we build a large Christian outdoor church anywhere in this nation with taxpayers funds?
I’m sure you’d be one of the first to stand in opposition, invoking some insane idea that the 1st Amendment says they has to be “a separation of Church and State.”
Can you quote that from the document? I can’t.
It’s a little more than a conspiracy when so many details are specific to the design of a mosque, at the macro and micro level. Maybe if it pointed at Mecca, but was not in the form of a crescent, and lacking the 19 blocks, I’d be far more inclined to side with you as far as thinking this was all nothing.
You wanted to bet that Shar’ia isn’t coming our way? Go ahead and think that. This topic is but one indication. 10 years? Not likely. 50 maybe. And it will not come in the newspapers headlines telling us the Constitution is “OBE.” It will be a series of events like this, the take over of taxi driver’s break rooms at airports, the feminists sticking their heads in the sand while women are mutilated, and subject to honor killings in Texas, the restriction of anything related to the Bible, yet the Koran, even in the form of a single book, being elevated to an object that one cannot touch unless they are “pure” or risk being hauled away for a “hate crime.”
Gender segregation in the name of “tolerance,” and specific decrees to law enforcement to not inspect the actions/belongings of any Muslim, not because that’s correct, but because government officials are afraid of expensive law suits.
Set up “human rights councils” and let the “offense” (read: “they made me feel bad”) of any one single person then not only censor the publisher, whoever they may be, and fine them heavily in the form of making them pay for their own defense, and be subject to other forms of monetary punishment. Oh, and don’t forget to use these forums to circumvent the requirement for real legal proceedings. Tell me this misuse of the public trust by Canadian officials is all a figment of my imagination in the case of Ezra Levant. Oh, I forgot, that’s in Canada! Like nothing ever makes it’s way south, like socialized medicine ideas (The Govinator trying to make it happen in CA already).
Next, turn over the oversight of schools with majority populations of Muslim children to only Islamic supervision. Let them teach the Koran all day and little else, except how Western Civilizations own “rule set” can be managed to gain advantage without having to kill (at first you can save that for the camps later).
Start letting creeping violence against gays and turn a blind eye to rape, because the majority of the offenders are Muslim youth and if you say that, you’ll get sued by CAIR, or they just riot and burn your cars in the street at night, and attacking the Police and Firefighters who come to make things safe.
And…don’t ever ascribe future possible behavior as a danger, worthy of continued governmental perusal, or anyone who has been charged with any action relating to terrorism, for that, too, would be discriminatory. Funny, we lock down the rest of the life of a person who is in possession of kiddy porn (or put them in prison for 200 years), because we all know they will next actually molest little ones, then they will kill them. It is the path they all take, no question…ask anyone on the street. That sort of crime is wrong, but stop for a minute and figure no one has managed to put forth that we might want to consider life time registration for anyone who dabbles in terrorist activities in this land. If the observed action of that one person poses that sort of danger to society (the sex offenders), then who are we to let convicted terrorist off the hook? Isn’t it logical that the pathological hatred demonstrated by one category of offenders is the same for the other type and therfore a danger? 2996 people is a lot to risk for a “feel good - I’m not a racists (btw, Islam is not a race)” oh so perfect lefty life view.
Could it be “they” have gamed it such that we are afraid of the legal challenges more than the aftermath of a significant attack?
Yes, it’s happening here. Like a train wreck that kills many, disables major rail lines, and costs millions to repair, the investigation (oh, yeah, after the disaster) finds that all along, there were bad decisions, bad parts, bad maintenance, that all foretold of the coming disaster, yet, somehow, they were all ignored.
Let “them” have the “we don’t need no stinkin’ SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE because we love all people and we want them to love us” exemption, to assuage your guilt of being a consumer that helps put money in the pockets of those who would use it to kill others randomly (and who would suit up mentally disabled women with explosives and detonate them remotely - yeah, big brave “freedom fighters.” Where is Micheal Moore when you need him? Probably chatting with his stock broker on how to keep things rolling in blood in the ME so he can earn more on his stocks in corporations building MRAPS and JDAMs), and not to develop a life of based on civility and commerce, at peace with those humans that surround them.
And, when they cut the ribbon on such an obvious monument to Islam and 19 dead terrorists, guess what the news all over the Arab world will be the next day? “America Opens Memorial to Islamic Freedom Fighters.”
Doubt that? The day after the last NIE was released (now found out to have been internally manipulated by several pissed off State Dept reps - no, no conspiracy to shift the truth based on political agendas here, move along), the little dictator, who has 16 year old girls hung, was just glowing that we said he wasn’t trying to build nukes (which, we also see, even this last week, is in fact, not the truth).
Then what? When we wake up HORRIFIED that we were duped by a few people into spending tax dollars to build a huge mosque, they will still hate the US, they will still send suicide bombers, and they will then laugh at us for being so fearful that we had to go along with their desires from afar, despite evidence to the contrary (such as this entire effort to get the Flight 93 Monument to be what it should be).
You’re gullible, or you’re a Muslim, which is all I can figure by your constant opposition to anything posted.
In the last week, I have found close to 100 links to such goings on. Welcome to the world you want by not voicing any opposition. By the time it’s done, I suspect we will not be allowed to communicate with each other to collect on the bet, as they are already imprisoning bloggers in Egypt and Iran…save your money to pay your dhimmi tax, so you can live with a boot on your neck.

Cao writes, “It’s sad that the victims’ families were lied to about this despicable mosque to the Al Qaeda terrorists.”
That would be true, if what she says is true. Which it isn’t, as what she says is patent nonsense.
Cao writes, “there were 19 hijackers on 9/11, and they are all memorialized in this Flight 93 memorial to the terrorists.”
No they aren’t.
Cao writes, “It’s a memorial mosque…of that there can be little doubt”
That’s a lie.
Cao writes, “Not to mention that it’s a MOSQUE… paid for with government money like it would be in Saudi Arabia.”
That’s not true. I donated $20 of my hard-earned dollars to a fund for a Flight 93 Memorial Fund. And if some of my tax dollars go toward a Flight 93 memorial, then I’m cool with that.
Cao writes, “Why not pay attention to a man who is defending his son’s memory? Instead of insult him?”
I never insulted him. I pity him. His son died under horrible circumstances. And his anguish is being exploited by loathsome people who could give a fig for heroism or courage or sacrifice–they just want to get in the news and have their incoherent raving get some kind of audience.
To xformed, I make the same offer I make to anyone writer/reader of this site–if the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA suffers under sharia law in the next 10, 50, 100 years, I will pay anyone $10,000 if they will offer me the same odds in exchange. The day that the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA comes under sharia law I will pay that person 10K…adjusted for inflation, even. See, I believe in America. I love America. I’m not a liar, or a coward. Cao and xformed hate America. They see freedom and liberty and the strength people derive from that and they hate it. They want to be RULED, by people who putatively share their views. They don’t want to be citizens–that’s too much responsibility for them to handle.
When the Flight 93 Memorial is finally built and consecrated, I’ll be there. It will be a solemn moment, but a triumphant one. The attacks on 9/11 murdered thousands of our fellow American, Those who died will be mourned, and celebrated. Those who caused their deaths will be anathematized. Those who attend the consecration, and those who join in this sacred consecration, will know that they live in a great nation, no matter how cowardly their government (and many of their fellow citizens) have behaved the last few years. American, eternal. The passengers of Flight 93, eternal.
People like Cao, and xformed, have no role in this America. Or this memorial. Go scuttle under the rug, where you belong. With the other cowards, racists, and liars. You’ve had your time. Your time, thankfully, is almost at an end.

You have no claim here, and you’re funny when you call me a liar.
I laugh at you!

yootoo;
From the time of your arrival on this blog, you have regularly made sweeping allegations such as this snippet above, yet rarely managed to present anything other than your opinion. Yes, we get to do that in this country. I do also.
However, it seems the only opinion worth considering is yours, and anyone commenting to the contrary are, as you say, liars.
A debate means you debate. Ad hominum attacks are truly indicative of your inability to discuss the matter in question on the facts and merits, or even theories. It means your magazines are empty, your ammo expended, and you’re up the creek, with no more paddles. Trust me, you have not stumbled upon a new and innovative way to try to force, and I use that word on purpose, for you sprinkle your writing with so many personal attacks, your opinion on others.
You go there often.
My question: I am a voting citizen of this nation. I have been for many years and I have exercised that privilege. I do not intend to stop, until I am dead, which separates me from certain political parties who would, if I was a declared member (but maybe not, either) would find away to let me influence governments from beyond the grave, but that’s another matter to discuss later. Why am I now not a part of America? Because of some totalitarian sounding declaration from a screen name of “yootoo?” Ms. Clinton? Is that you?
I further speculate you are a Muslim, based on your strange proclamations, in my opinion, would have to come from some world view that allows the placing of opponents into a second, or non- class of personhood, which is not something we do in this United States, but something Mohammed required for the infidels, Hitler for the Jews, the Communists for the agitators, etc.
No role? I have done plenty as a servant to this nation. I continue to do what I can. I’m sure you’re ignorant of this, or would seek to sweep my service away as being of no consequence, as you deem it so, merely because you disagree with me.
Care to share why your existence is a superior level of societal functionality? How about providing what you have done to serve the Country, in any manner.
Have a great day and please don’t be offended if I choose to ignore your rantings from now on. Yes, it is personal and it’s my choice in this free country to do so.

Ignorant pretty much sums him up, xformed.

yootoo, please explain to me how the memorial is NOT like a mosque.
Can you do that?
I don’t believe you can, but feel free to try.
Comment by kender — 2/4/2008 @ 7:54 pm
yootoo,
I can’t decide which makes me angrier, the memorial or the people who refuse to see. the simple fact of the matter is the government has chosen to demoralize the heroic actions of the people by designing a memorial to their murderers, while you may not be able to see it, it does not mean it is not there
Comment by Carolyn Hileman — 2/5/2008 @ 1:16 am
Yootoo lives in another reality. youtoo refuses to see what’s happening because he simply does not want to.
It’s a rather simple mentality, and quite immature. When facts appears that disagree with yootoo’s personal view of the world, he ignores them and then those facts simply do not exist. Then he proceeds to pass judgment on any who disagree with his version of facts and reality.
I’m willing to bet that youtoo didn’t even read this entire post because he didn’t want to be bothered with facts that conflict with his personal view of the world.
In fact, youtoo is so confused in his world that he doesn’t understand the concept of freedom. He doesn’t understand terrorists and terrorism. And he will likely be one who quickly surrenders to any enemy of freedom, believing he is “helping” those who fight for freedom.
Comment by Ogre — 2/5/2008 @ 7:55 am
It would seem to me that THAT kind of blind mentality would be a self-fulfilling prophecy of extinction.
