Wow, it’s been an eventful week. First, the blog called the carteret con artist was very active, displaying some specific examples beyond the Joe Cafasso profile of the infamous poser and military fraud, insurance lobbyist, fraudulent former special forces soldier, fake Vietnam Vet, sailor on the North Sea, hero in the Iran conflict rescuing guys off a burning C-130, rescuer in Louisiana during Katrina under the name of Jay Cafasso, stalker, etc.,etc.
GM Roper talks about his own personal experience with a poser he ran across years ago who re-emerged. Much along the same lines as Cafasso on this post at GM’s Corner, GM refers to him as “Dario”, a man who claimed to have a degree in Chemistry and 3 years of medical school. I’ve been studying up on this lying phenomenon, because it’s surprising to me that it’s becoming ever the norm. We’ve come to expect it from our elected representatives, as a part of life, and it seems to be ever on the increase.
In “Phonies Fakes and Frauds and the Social Harms They Cause”, Dr. Gehring at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy talks about her personal experience with Cafasso an examines other examples of military frauds, resume padders, plagiarists; all frauds of similar genres who not only try to make themselves out to be what they’re not, but what they perceive they have to gain in doing so. She describes the psychology of what drives people like this and what motivates them to do it in the first place.
Here’s more evidence that it’s a growing phenomenon in this country. A devastating 86% of high school students admit that they cheat on tests. 90% of them say they’ve never been caught doing it! So this is how we’re training up a new generation of people to do what Cafasso and Dario have managed to accomplish in the lives? Are we producing more and more liars who will not only pad their resumes, but out-and-out lie about who they are, their background and what they do for a living, etc? This is a disturbing thing to me. Morality seems to have been flushed down the tubes in our modern day culture in favor of something that seems to be straight out of a science fiction movie. There don’t seem to be very many people out there who are straight with a strong moral fiber in their bones; they’re wishy washy, they change their opinions in favor of what’s politically correct, and even completely changed sides!!
Cafasso is a classic example of what I’m talking about. He worked as an organizer for the Pat Buchanan campaign, and was employed by Fox News at about $200 a week as a military and counterterrorism expert, which he’s not even qualified for, because his self-proclaimed moniker of being a retired Lt. Col from the army is just as false as barge story on the North Sea. Not only was he kicked out of the army after a short 44 days at Fort Dix, and allegedly never had a passport or even been out of the country. He was involved in the flight 800 debacle and was published in an article about it at Worldnet Daily. He lobbyed in front of Congress as ‘the head of the insurance lobby’ and a ‘former special forces soldier’. But when he was ‘outted’ as a fraud in the New York Times, he was welcomed into the bosom of the left, and was even featured as a disgruntled former Fox employee on Robert Greenwald’s “outfoxed” expose. Some have taken note, though, that of all the interviews available through a creative commons license for other diatribes about FOX and ‘the christian rightwing’, the one featuring Cafasso is missing. Leads a lot of credence to the validity, veracity and points of their complaints about Fox when they use guys like Al Franken who think it’s funny to break a chair over someone’s back who disagrees with him to pimp his book, and frauds like Joe Cafasso, doesn’t it? This man is so full of braggadicio that Moveon.org put him on a discussion panel where he presumably put in an appearance as a Fox Whistleblower! (I haven’t seen evidence of precisely who was on that discussion panel, but knowing the character of this man, I doubt he would have passed up the chance to rub elbows and make more contacts with people at the Ritz-Carlton.)
Can you imagine what kind of an existence this must be?
Gosh, can you imagine having so many identities, depending on who you’re running into, like for example - the city of Manhattan? It’s no wonder the more we find out, the more it looks like he’s ready for the loony bin. In the West Side of New York he is Blackwood. On the Lower East Side he is Cafasso! In Little Italy, he’s Big Joey Mosca. When he steps into the Village, he is Jay Mosca! When he hits the steps of the St. Patrick’s Chancery for the Catholic Charities - too close to the UN - he is Lt. Col Blackwood!
That just gives me a headache, I have no idea how he keeps it all straight, but I’m sure it keeps him busy scheming and plotting and making up new stories! I wouldn’t want to live a life where I’m constantly looking over my shoulder or around the room to see if there might be someone else present who knows that I’m lying, but that’s just me, I guess; I’m in the shrinking part of the population who actually thinks these things are despicable and matter.

Best plan I’ve seen!
>>
>> Mr. Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use. The best way to

>>using so much gas is to deport 11 million illegal immigrants! That would
>>be 11 million less people using our gas. The price of gas would come

>>Bring some of our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they

>>
>> Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in

it!
>>
>> After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he

solution to both the problems,

Ever since CNN’s screening of the now-infamous sniper video, the BBC has found itself beaten back into second-place in the Treacherous Leftism stakes. Obviously, the Corporation couldn’t allow this situation to stand unchallenged for long, and so it is that one, David Loyn, does something quite jaw-droppingly vile:
The BBC’s David Loyn has had exclusive access to Taleban forces mobilised against the British army in Helmand Province in southern Afghanistan.
So you CNN guys think buying a ropey video off some terrorists is hot stuff? Pfah! Our journalists actually embed with them. Top that, amateurs.
There is no army on earth as mobile as the Taleban.
From the offset, Loyns proves himself to be a firm believer in the adage, ‘If you can’t say anything good about someone, then don’t say anything at all’ … Because, you know, when asked to fill the blank in the following sentence:
‘There is no army on earth as ………. the Taliban’
It’s a very safe bet that words like ‘hated’, ‘evil’, ‘fascist’ and ‘women-whipping’ would leap far more readily into most people’s minds than the ‘mobile’ Loyns settles on.
But. Still. Bearing in mind al-Beeb’s need to win that treason-contest with CNN, it is, perhaps, understandable that Loyn would overlook the obvious here … Just as it’s obvious why he overlooks the reason for his use of ‘hair-raising’ a few paragraphs later:
After one hair-raising race across the desert last week, patrolling the large area where they can move at will, they screamed to a stop at a river bank.
Question: Why were the bearded-crazies ‘racing’ through the desert, Loyns? For shits and giggles? Because of a rumour that Miss Goativerse 2006 was giving out free samples in the village next door?
Or was it because the British Army were chasing them?
See, Loyn, here’s how this works for the rest of us: When we see someone ‘racing across the desert’ with a bunch of the very same Islamofascists who’ve just murdered a British soldier, the descriptor we tend toward isn’t ‘Journalist’. It’s ‘Traitor’ …
… Or are we being a little too conservative about all this? We mean, granted that Loyn and the BBC are ‘racing’ with, and heaping praises upon, the very ‘men’ who murder British, U.S. and NATO soldiers. But. Still. It isn’t as if they’ve gotten so close to the Taliban that they’re exchanging dental-hygiene tips with each other. Is it?
They clean their teeth with sharpened sticks taken from trees, and sleep with only the thinnest shawls to cover them.
Oh. Damn … But, at least, having clawed his way back to the kind of reality that eschews sticks in favour of toothbrushes, Loyns will grant that his own countrymen stand a good chance of hammering the kind of guys who think sharpened sticks are the answer to dental hygiene?
They have surprised the British by the ferocity of their fighting and their willingness to take casualties.
Their belief in the imminence of paradise means that few exhibit fear.
Oh. Right. So now we’re to be ’surprised’ that bearded, bark-gnawing, Islamist savages are willing to take a bullet for Allah?
Well, while this will come as a huge shock to anyone who didn’t get the Taliban’s somewhat unmissable 9/11 memo on that one, the rest of human civilisation (and this includes our fighting men — Thanks for inferring it doesn’t, Loyn) fully intends to soldier boldly on without submitting to the kind of guys who charge into battle, beards waggling fearsomely, with teeth cleaned on lumps of … um … wood.

Crossposted from Stop The ACLU Liberals always act shocked and astonished that conservatives believe that an organization claiming to be the guardian of religious liberty is actually is actually America’s number one religious censor. They will spout off token cases where the ACLU veered from its normal path of hostility toward Christian religious expression to defend free speech. They have a handful of cases they try to convince us with. However, the ACLU’s history can easily be looked at and the cases against religious expression far outweigh these token cases. If the ACLU were consistent in its positions on religious liberty despite the religion their defense on the issue would be much easier. However, many cases point out that it isn’t religion in general the ACLU fight, but the Christian religion in particular. When the Tangipahoa Parish School Board in Louisiana opened its board meetings with a prayer like they had for 30 years the ACLU sued. After the ACLU won that case and the School Board ignored the court ruling, Louisiana ACLU chief Joe Cook called for them to be jailed and compared them to terrorists. Mr. Cook is currently leading an attack on plan for a Katrina memorial paid for with private funds to be erected on private land simply because it is in the shape of a cross and might offend some sensitive passerby. When valedictorian of Foothill High, Brittany McComb, decided to share her faith voluntarily at her graduation cermony the ACLU said it was the right call to pull the plug. And of course we are all familiar with the ACLU’s crusade to eliminate the Mt. Soledad war memorial because it is a cross that might offend some atheist. It has become a tradition for the ACLU to attack Christian nativity scenes every Christmas. They has already started early this year. We have all witnessed the ACLU’s hatred of Ten Commandment displays across the nation. The ACLU sue city counsil after city counsil over praying in Jesus name. They don’t sue to stop all prayer, but in every case the target has been Christian prayer. They even fought for the right of a Wiccan to pray at a counsil meeting. Many times it doesn’t even take a lawsuit. They just type up a threatening letter and that does the trick. If the ACLU were consistent to oppose all religions in its seperation of church and state quest it would be one thing, but in all too many cases it is Christianity that is targeted while other religions get a pass. The cases of double standards are numerous. A few blatant examples are how the ACLU fought to revoke the tax exempt status of the Catholic Church while fighting for a tax exemption for Wiccans and how they fight against any Christianity being exposed to school children yet are found absent when Islamic indoctrination is going on. In fact they were involved in creating the rules to allow such indoctrination to take place. There is no doubt that the ACLU are overzealous in their quest to secularize America and erase its Christian heritage. The good news is that there are organizations out there fighting them, and people standing up to protest against them. Currently they are attacking Lakeview Elementary School for promotion of a Prayer at the Flagpole event, a National Day of Prayer event, the activities of a “Praying Parents” group, teacher-led voluntary classroom prayers, and a Christian theme and overtly religious songs at a Christmas program. The school is not denying these charges but asserting that Muslim, Jewish, and Hindu students have “a constitutional right to pray or to read their scriptures at school as well. They did not cave in to the ACLU’s threats but gathered a group of over 600 people to protest the ACLU in a prayer vigil.
The prayer rally, organized by two Mt. Juliet commissioners, drew hundreds, with about 200 stuck in a 1.5-mile traffic jam. The event, which also attracted some local politicians and pastors, took place outside the school recently named in a lawsuit for alleged constitutional violations.
It is encouraging to see people standing up to the ACLU in defense of their rights that they feel are being threatened. However, this will not stop the ACLU from proceeding with its attacks. On the other hand it will ultimately be the power of the people and their desire for freedom that will have to put a stop to the ACLU’s attempts to criminalize Christian free speech through the courts. One effective way to assert this power is to get out and vote for people that oppose the ACLU’s anti-Christian agenda. Everytime the ACLU wins a case against these small schools and local governments they are awarded massive money in attorney’s fees through your tax dollars. Often this is used to threaten these cash strapped schools and local governments to surrender before the case even goes before a court. There is current legislation, the Public Expression of Religion Act, that seeks to put a stop to this extortion. It has already passed the House and will be up for vote soon in the Senate. It is very unlikely it will pass if liberals take control. Put an end to this abuse. Get out and vote for people you know will support this much needed legislation. Cut the ACLU off from the government teat. This was a production of Stop The ACLU Blogburst. If you would like to join us, please email Jay at Jay@stoptheaclu.com or Gribbit at GribbitR@gmail.com. Response Ad to Michael J. Fox’s Missouri Moonbattery
Michael J. Fox’s recent exploitation of his disease to advance the progressive campaign to further dehumanize unborn babies marked a new low in political advertising. In case you haven’t seen it click here.
It’s probably no accident that Fox’s Parkinson’s seems especially bad in the commercial. Here he is in his own words admitting that he will stop taking his meds in order to worsen his condition so as to pull heartstrings:
I had made a deliberate choice to appear before the subcommittee without medication. It seemed to me that this occasion demanded that my testimony about the effects of the disease, and the urgency we as a community were feeling, be seen as well as heard. For people who had never observed me in this kind of shape, the transformation must have been startling.
As Rush Limbaugh points out, this isn’t the first time Democrats have politicized disease. John Edwards famously promised that Christopher Reeve would walk again, if only voters would elect John Kerry. But Missouri’s Amendment 2 battle is particularly disturbing because under cover of confusing verbiage it would establish human cloning as a constitutional right.
There is no evidence that any miracle cures are in the wings if only Jim Talent, who opposes Amendment 2, could be removed from office. The objective — beyond replacing Talent with Democrat Claire McCaskill in the Senate — is to push aside any morality regarding the sanctity of human life.
Stem cell research is not really the issue; it is already legal in Missouri, and Talent is not trying to change that. The issue is raising unborn humans in Petri dishes for purposes of harvesting their cells, like something out of a horror movie. The motivation is not so much to cure disease, as to establish that human life has no inherent value, thus defending the liberal sacrament, abortion.
Amendment 2 opponents have a response on the air, featuring Jeff Suppan, who will be pitching for the Cardinals in the World Series tonight click here.

Via Stop The ACLU: New Jersey rules in favor of Gay Marriage.
New Jersey’s highest court ruled Wednesday that gay couples are entitled to the same rights as heterosexuals, but that lawmakers must determine whether the state will honor gay marriage or some other form of civil union. Advocates on both sides of the issue believed the state posed best chance for gay marriage to win approval since Massachusetts became the only state to do so in 2003 because the New Jersey Supreme Court has a history of extending civil rights protections. Instead, the high court stopped short of fully approving gay marriage and gave lawmakers 180 days to rewrite marriage laws to either include gay couples or create new civil unions.
New Jersey is one of only five states where there is no law or constitutional amendment specifically barring same-sex marriages. This ruling changes the dynamic of the debate significantly. However, this ruling is significant because it impacts things on a national level. Massachusetts has a law barring out-of- state couples from wedding there if their marriages would not be recognized in their own states. New Jersey has no such law. Gay-rights groups are already poised for lawsuits in which couples marry in New Jersey and sue their home states to recognize their marriage. Currently the Defense Of Marriage Act would prevent something like this. However, groups are poised to challenge this now. However, the court stopped short of actually ruling for gay marriages. This looks like a mixed bag as it is sent back to the legislative branch for a decision to ban or allow them. The court ruled that same-sex couples have a constitutional right to the benefits of marriage. Whether those benefits are “marriage” or an equivalent form is left to the democratic process. Or in other words, the court just mandated gay marriage in all but name. People should stay aware on this because it opens all kinds of doors. While gay-advocates view this as a milestone and a victory it very well could cause a backlash. Overall, I think attempting to push such things on the people hurts the gay-rights movement more than it helps it. Many state courts have ruled in favor of recognizing same-sex marriages or unions only to have amendments proposed, voted on by the people, and added to the constitutions of the states to barr them. I think pushing this issue on the people is the wrong way to go. I think gay advocates should convince the people of their cause if they want any real momentum. When you push something on people that are not willing to accept it they will fight back that much harder. So now the question is..with six months for the legislative branch to act…will this get conservatives out to the polls? Red State sees a backlash possibility as well.
If NJ legalizes homosexual marriage Wednesday, joining MAssachusetts as the second state to do so, we’re two weeks out from the election with conservatives suddenly bombed with yet another activist court redefining marriage. Apart from a particular spike in conservative turnout in the states with pending marriage amendments on their ballots (AZ, CO, ID, SC, SD, VA, TN, WI), we could see conservative invigorated across the country. Note that we’ve got the key Senate races in TN and VA on that list, Governor runs in AZ and WI, and scattered House races in AZ and CO in particular.
The ACLU of NJ was involved here, and I’m not quite sure how they will react to this ruling. October surprise? I guess we will soon find out. Even though the court pushed this back into the legislative area…with six months for lawmakers to act on this it very well could be a GOTV for conservatives in New Jersey and other states as well. Is the 2006 Election Tide About to Turn?
We’re being told that there is potentially a massive tidal wave of discontent with conservatives and the Republican Party which will wash over the political landscape like the Tsunami of 1994 and sweep Republicans out of power and hand control in the House of Representatives and perhaps even the Senate over to the Democrats.
Yet, there is one thing that coastal dwellers like myself realize. Tides come in and they also go out.
The question now is whether the tide which currently shows Democrats seizing control of the Legislative Branch of government is still growing or about to ebb and begin receding?
The mainstream media would have you believe that the wave is unstoppable and like a Tsunami, whose initial wave is followed by waves of increasing size, can only grow. They’ve been running that story now ever since the politically timed Mark Foley Scandal broke.
And in the past week, they sought to weave together the tidal wave for change and scandalmongering with an assertion that the GOP conservative base, and particularly “values voters” in the religious right might desert the GOP in this critical year.
Never mind that the reporters who suggest such nonsense have never been inside a Christian fundamentalist church. They probably have the same Democrat source who leaked the Foley messages telling them it is so. It’s difficult if not impossible for any self-identified member of the “religious right” to not vote and watch the ACLU’s allies in the Democrat Party take the country further down a road where Christianity is marginalized, prayer not allowed in public schools, but school children can receive abortions on demand.
Then there are the other stories, again from dubious sources, that there are conservatives so fed up with the lack of progress on conservative issues like immigration, government spending and tax policy that they will sit this one out and hand the reigns over to the folks who advocate open borders, massive new federal programs and repeal of all tax cuts. Again, if anyone claims to be part of that group, check his or her voting record. I’m not buying it.
The Good News:If we really are in a political Tsunami where the right is demoralized and the left energized, then why are President Bush, Karl Rove and GOP Chairman Ken Mehlman talking about holding both the House and Senate? If it’s all just morale boosting bravado, they will look like fools on Election Day. Or do they know something we don’t know?Bush, Rove and Mehlman DO know something we don’t, but not because it’s a secret, but because the media won’t tell you.
You’ve probably already heard that the leading historical indicators as measured by polls suggest that most people think the war in Iraq is a mistake, the country is headed in the wrong direction and most people are planning to vote for Democrats this year. Real Clear Politics keeps a running summary of all these indicators.
And you may have advanced a bit further down the information superhighway and read the few reported stories of how many of these polls have a significantly higher sampling of Democrats, than Republicans. Pollster David Winston released a study last week showing that the standard model for party identification in polling is off in many of this year’s polls ranging in amounts from 1-5% over polling from previous years.
Don’t forget it was just two years ago that flawed exit polls showed Kerry winning the 2004 presidential election. Polls aren’t perfect.
Put aside, for the moment, the problem with Dem oversampling and question bias in polls. Look instead at the specific question of voter enthusiasm between the two parties. GOP Chairman Mehlman released a report last week citing various polls which show that enthusiasm, energy and intensity between the two parties was fairly evenly matched.
Mehlman goes on to point out that: “Despite the media hype, an examination of all the facts makes it clear: the Republican base is active and engaged. No matter how you measure it, whether by record-breaking fundraising, unprecedented volunteerism, or scientific polling, the numbers show that Republicans understand the importance of the choice we all face on November 7. “
You didn’t read that in your local newspaper or hear about it on CNN did you? It doesn’t quite fit the story line that the GOP is going down to defeat.
Money: The Mother’s Milk of Politics. And the GOP Has the Advantage.
Barron’s Magazine made quite a splash over the weekend with a story titled “Survivor! The GOP Victory” by Jim McTague who predicts that Republicans will maintain control of both the House and Senate based on an analysis of each candidates ability to raise money in his or her district. In 2004, his predictions for both the House and Senate were remarkably accurate.
The following are a few predictions from McTague’s report:
Using this method, I looked at the details for the Virginia senate race between George Allen and James Webb. As of the 9/30/2006 financial report Allen raised a total of $14,845,295 with $10,241,914 coming from individuals. Webb raised a total of $4,484,395 with $4,022,376 from individuals. Webb had a higher percentage of individual contributions, but Allen raised significantly more than twice as much in that category.
More Pieces of the Election Puzzle Fall Into Place This WeekEarly voting begins in Florida on Monday; soon to be followed by other states. Reading the tea leaves from early voting turnout in those states may give an indicator whether the Dem wave is nothing more than a wash.; soon to be followed by other states. Already we are getting hints that GOP efforts to provide absentee ballots is paying off. A report from Colorado shows that absentee ballot requests are way up. If that holds true in other states, we can toss the media generated line that Republicans aren’t going to vote out the window.
As the hype over the Mark Foley story subsided, voters across the country began to focus on serious issues. Many races where Republicans were trailing badly began to tighten. The differences in all but a few are in single digits. Considering the margin of error and the built in bias of some polls things may be even closer than they appear.
This week should see an influx of new polls in specific races across the country. At Mike’s America we’ll be watching with anticipation to see if the tide has turned.

Those self rightous blankety blanks at the New York Times publish a “Mea Culpa” on the SWIFT banking story.
There were reasons to publish the controversial article, but they were slightly outweighed by two factors to which I gave too little emphasis. While it’s a close call now, as it was then, I don’t think the article should have been published.
[…]
I haven’t found any evidence in the intervening months that the surveillance program was illegal under United States laws. Although data-protection authorities in Europe have complained that the formerly secret program violated their rules on privacy, there have been no Times reports of legal action being taken. Data-protection rules are often stricter in Europe than in America, and have been a frequent source of friction.
And these are the folks that want us to trust them on matters of knowing which security matters they can publish.
And where are the self rightous bloggers on the left? Will they publish a Mea Culpa also or will their BDS continue to blind them.
Read the whole NYT article then come back and comment.

Although I am 2 for 2 in getting letters to the Editor published here in Hawaii, I wanted to post the one I just dashed off regarding this one in The Honolulu Advertiser by a local candidate here.
This guy running for State House of Representatives against the highly popular incumbent (R) Kym Pine just opened his mouth and stuck a big ol’ slippah in it… You see here in Ewa, there has been an extremely long term traffic problem. The problem was long before I moved here and although I gather people have talked a lot of story about what should be done and could be done to alleviate the ridiculously long (yes even with my Ca perspective they seem long) commute to town, nothing has moved forward over the years besides more and more development and thus more and more commuters making travel time longer and more dangerous. This was also a safety concern for me even before Sunday’s quake because the Ewa community has literally only one way into town and one way out. In the event of a catastrophe such as a Tsunami, I know we’d basically be up a creek without a paddle.
Enter Kym Pine, a first term (R) Rep. who comes onto a largely (D) scene and with a great deal of collabortive work with Democrats is able to get more funds for traffic relief for Ewa than ever before! Recognizing this great achievement among others, the Honolulu Advertiser endorsed Pine in the upcoming election. Now enter the challenger who doesn’t have many avenues (tee hee) to drive up so takes the highly recommended strategy of degrading his own constituents! My letter to the Editor:
Regarding R. Scott Belford’s arrogant letter to the editor (Oct 17)questioning the Advertiser’s endorsement of Rep. Pine and his condescending comment, “Voters are too tired to spend time checking facts. We count on the media for this…”, I am greatly disappointed and shocked a man running for office would think so little of his constituents let alone so publicly display his own poor judgement for all to read. I can only surmise in making such grossly false statements and accusations regarding voters’knowledge and recognition of facts he can allow himself to ignore our genuine appreciation for the exemplary service of Rep. Pine for her district and people of Hawai’i.
I mean politics can and does often unfortunatley mean candidate attacking candidate…but what kind of mind, what kind of political servant mind sees his constituents as too tired ( read lazy? stupid? uninformed? lackadaisical?) to know facts let alone check them? Ya gotta wonder once you stop laughing.

Yes, CNN is on the webpage pushing the Jihadi sniper video, one of many that have been available on the internet for a long time. Yet all of a sudden they deem it neccessary to post it saying from the front page teaser:”
“Almost 2,800 Americans have been killed so far in Iraq and one of the most dangerous insurgent opponents is the sniper. CNN has obtained graphic video from the Islamic Army of Iraq, one of the most active insurgent organizations in Iraq, showing its sniper teams targeting U.S. troops. The Islamist Army says it wants talks with the United States and some Islamist Internet postings call for a P.R. campaign aimed at influencing the American public. The video is disturbing to watch but CNN believes the story, shocking as it is, needs to be told.”
Sounds like a DNC talking point to me. Hell, they even say the Islamist (can we use that word?) is willing to talk. BAH! They even talk about a P.R. campaign aimed at influencing the American public. THey already have it. Its called CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN.
In the full article
“The graphic video of 10 sniper attacks was obtained by CNN — through intermediaries — from the Islamic Army of Iraq, one of the most active insurgent organizations in Iraq.”
Oh really. Would those intermediaries be someone like… say YOUTUBE??
But according to a marine sniper quoted in the article:
“The worst enemy of a sniper is another sniper,” Coughlin said. “Our snipers are hunting these guys — I guarantee you this is happening as we speak.” “
Damn skippy. More dead jihadis. The only good kind.

The Washington Post reported “One-Day Iraq Toll Is Highest for U.S. In Many Months” as the insurgents make known who they want to prevail in the House and Senate on Nov. 7.
Simple plan really. The insurgents are not dummies. They know what happened in 1973: Democrats cut off funding to the Republic of Vietnam and undercut the peace accord that Kissinger reached. The misery caused by the “party of peace symbols” included thousands slaughtered in Vietnam, the fall of Saigon, millions sent to re-education camps and about 2 million skulls pile up in Cambodia.
So 34 years later, a new group takes a page out of Vietnam. Help get the Democrats elected and watch Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid cut off the funding again.
A roadside bombing and other attacks killed 10 American troops across Iraq on Tuesday, the U.S. military reported Wednesday, making it the deadliest day of combat for U.S. forces in 10 months.
The one-day toll, part of what the U.S. military has said is a 43 percent increase in attacks on U.S. and Iraqi forces in the capital since midsummer, occurred as casualties among Iraqi troops and civilians are soaring far higher than at any previous time in the war, according to U.S. and Iraqi tallies.
And President Bush said as much to ABC News.
The president said that the insurgents are trying to create a Tet as Tom Friedman said: “He could be right. There’s certainly a stepped-up level of violence, and we’re heading into an election.
“George, my gut tells me that they have all along been trying to inflict enough damage that we’d leave. And the leaders of al Qaeda have made that very clear. Look, here’s how I view it.
“First of all, al Qaeda is still very active in Iraq. They are dangerous. They are lethal. They are trying to not only kill American troops, but they’re trying to foment sectarian violence. They believe that if they can create enough chaos, the American people will grow sick and tired of the Iraqi effort and will cause government to withdraw.”
I don’t think the American people will allow that to happen twice. I hope the president makes this the theme for the congressional elections.

Crossposted from STACLU This week the ACLU held its 2006 membership conference. Over 1,500 moonbats from across the U.S. gathered to listen to the ACLU alarmist exaggerations and lies. The event was televised on CSPAN and there were some interesting moments such as when Justice Scalia slam dunked Nadine Strossen in a debate about the bill of rights. One of the more humorous highlights of the ACLU’s conference this week was when Bush signed the Military Tribunal Bill into law. The ACLU came up with one of its most clever and cute full page ads to date in which they claimed to be “the most conservative organization in America.”
To highlight concerns with the act, the ACLU took out a full page advertisement in today’s Washington Post, calling itself “the most conservative organization in America.” Since its founding, the ACLU has fought to conserve the system of checks and balances and defend the Bill of Rights.
I guess this claim is technically true. They do more work to “conserve” political correctness, protections for terrorists and traitors, and judicial activism than any other organization out there. I guess it all just depends on what one is trying to conserve. One thing the ACLU is not trying conserve is a Conservative majority in Congress. As a matter of fact they are actively working against this. One of the most honest moments of the ACLU conference was when Caroline Fredrickson came out in reference to a pending NSA surveillance bill and rooted for the Democrats.
The eavesdropping bills’ fate in the short, post-election session that is set to begin next month hinges on whether Republicans lose their leadership in either chamber, ACLU Washington Office Director Caroline Fredrickson said in an interview. “If Democrats take control, they won’t let a bad spying bill get jammed through,” she said.
As if putting out over a dozen political ads opposing particular candidates wasn’t enough to show their partisanship, Caroline just comes out and says it. What happened to the ACLU’s proud claim that they are “wholly non-partisan, neither liberal nor conservative, Republican nor Democrat?” Nevermind that old cliche slogan, the ACLU now claim they are the most Conservative organization. So lets look at some of the things they are trying to conserve this election season. One thing the ACLU is working to conserve is voter fraud. Conserving the right to vote for illegal immigrants, convicted felons, and dead people goes right along with the ACLU’s agenda to get dhimmicrats elected this election cycle. The ACLU expressed its disappointment when the House passed the Federal Election Integrity Act of 2006,” requiring voters to present a government-issued photo ID in order to vote in federal elections. In Missouri at least 16 St. Louis area Democrats were found guilty of election crimes in the last year and a half and now there is even more fraud going on. When Republican Gov. Matt Blunt signed a law requiring voters to provide I.D. the ACLU represented a group of Democrats to challenge the law. It was successful in striking down a similar law in Georgia and with the help of the 9th Circuit Arizona as well. They also fought voter ID laws in New Mexico, Michigan, and Indiana. Unfortunately for the ACLU they may not be able to pull things off in time over in Indiana.
A federal appeals court judge says the panel is unlikely to rule on an Indiana law requiring people to show government-issued photo ID at the polls before the November seventh election. The Seventh US Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago heard arguments in the case Wednesday. The American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana is asking a three-judge panel to overturn the state law. ACLU attorney Ken Falk says there’s no evidence of the vote fraud that the law is aimed at eliminating. He says Indiana’s requirements to obtain identification are too cumbersome. But Thomas Fisher of the Indiana Attorney General’s office argued that the ACLU and the Indiana Democratic Party failed to find a single person who would not be eligible to vote under the law.
Yes, I guess it is difficult to get dead people to show up at court. What the ACLU is really seeking to conserve is a 9/10 mindset for America. They hope to conserve privacy rights for terrorists. They want a Democrat controlled Congress and they are not ashamed to admit it. They know this is the only way they can be successful striking down the NSA legislation and other important terror bills and tools that come may come along. They fear legislation currently pending in the Senate to strip them of their taxpayer funded attorney’s fees in Establishment Clause cases, and they know a Democrat controlled Senate is the sure fire way to kill it. Concerned with illegal immigration? If you think we are not making any progress now, just imagine the slow down with the Democrats in control. The ACLU will be right their lobbying against every effort to secure the border. The ACLU’s agenda is pushed by more than just the courts. Want more conservative judges put on the bench? Let the loony liberals gain power and you can kiss that goodbye as well. One sure fire way to help the ACLU progress its agenda against America is to stay at home during election time. Discouraged by the polls? Dan Riehl can help you put things back in perspective. Don’t get discouraged and allow the liberals to gain power. Get out and vote.
