From Drudge comes this report about a bunch of global warming protesters that are calling for the resignations of both the directors, of the National Hurricane Center and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

SILVER SPRING, MD – Hundreds of concerned citizens and leaders from across the nation will join Hurricane Katrina survivors Wednesday to call for the resignation of the heads of the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) at the NOAA Headquarters just outside of Washington, D.C. During an 11 a.m. demonstration, advocates will demand that NOAA stop covering up the growing scientific link between severe hurricanes and global warming while insisting on real solutions to the problem of global warming.

Unbelievable.

Well, it just goes to show that somebody has to hang for everything that goes wrong, whether it’s an act of God, or not. Heaven forbid that we would see things as they truly are. Why in the world would we need to accept that hurricanes, tsunamis, tornados, and other natural disasters have been around since the planet was formed?

2. Actually global warming is not disputed by any of the leading peer reviewed scientific publications… The article linked to is 9 years old and plays loosely with the facts at based. No leading climatologist today disagrees with the fact that global warming is occuring as a result of human activity and that only the rate of the warm is in question.. Try looking at some scientific literature or web sites instead of for people that already tell you what you want to believe.

3. Is that so? What publications would those be, pray tell? Certainly not peer-reviewed publications by the ICR.

   It would be leftist scientific research papers that you’re referring to which in my opinion are garbage because they discount such things as ‘creation’, intelligent design -even though there is ample evidence which supports both.  These are also the same publications which support the theory of evolution and ancient myths such as macroevolution, vestigial organs, despite modern scientific advances which have debunked those myths. 

   The hilarious part of all this is…the introduction of God into scientific debate (which was a widely held belief system at the turn of the century and before)-is something they simply will not tolerate; so they desperately cling to these ancient myths of fantasy, much like Marx and Engels.

    Fortunately, we’ve moved past the time when the manifesto was written and some of us realize there’s an entire scientific world which has emerged since then.

4. The ICR is NOT a scientific organization and the only ‘peers’ that review in it are those who already believe it regardless of the evidence. If evidenciary reviews and comparisons are what you are looking for I provided a direct link discussing global warming. Perhaps you should open your mind and use logic instead of using a faith based non-sensical non-scientific organization as your guidepost to intelligent discourse.

5. Furthermore, there is nothing ‘leftwing’ about global warming theory. That is just a straw man you are creating to try to get people to ignore intelligent discussion and investigation.

   And of course, there is no crisis in evolution theory, that is another fantasy creation of yours. Evolution is widely supported by an enormous body of scientific and historical evidence. It is a theory that will be finely tuned and moderately changed as new evidence is discovered and new facts emerge, but it is by no means threatened by any ‘creationist’ crap.
