Global Warming Protesters Call For Resignation Of Weather Officials

From Drudge comes this report about a bunch of global warming protesters that are calling for the resignations of both the directors, of the National Hurricane Center and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

SILVER SPRING, MD – Hundreds of concerned citizens and leaders from across the nation will join Hurricane Katrina survivors Wednesday to call for the resignation of the heads of the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) at the NOAA Headquarters just outside of Washington, D.C. During an 11 a.m. demonstration, advocates will demand that NOAA stop covering up the growing scientific link between severe hurricanes and global warming while insisting on real solutions to the problem of global warming.

Unbelievable.

Well, it just goes to show that somebody has to hang for everything that goes wrong, whether it’s an act of God, or not. Heaven forbid that we would see things as they truly are. Why in the world would we need to accept that hurricanes, tsunamis, tornados, and other natural disasters have been around since the planet was formed?

Read these pieces:

THE MYTH OF GLOBAL WARMING

Science Has Spoken: Global Warming Is a Myth

Myths vs. Facts

With all of the garbage that Hollywood is putting out, the media has been saturated with movies like Gore’s ridiculous waste of money and The Day After Tomorrow, it’s no wonder people are allowing themselves to be whipped into a frenzy, over a natural occurence.

Whoever coined the term moonbat, deserves royalties.

ACLU: Making America Less Safe

The above banner and slogan is quite deceptive and an utter joke to those that are truly aware to the ACLU’s workings. Just in the past week the ACLU has launched a massive campaign against the NSA’s efforts to trace terrorist phone calls into the U.S. This campaign with full page ads has even been denounced by media that usually defend the ACLU as completely lacking in context. In just the last few days the ACLU has pounced at the chance to bash America, applauding the decision of an EU Court that struck down an anti-terrorism agreement that allows the European Union and the U.S. to share information on airline passengers. And in the same day the ACLU of Florida came out against a new law that restricts colleges and universities from using state funds for travel to countries classified as terrorist states by the U.S. government. The ACLU consistently allign themselves with groups like CAIR, and other organizations that have known terrorist ties. They have turned down donations from some of their most generous donors because of anti-terrorism stipulations. They can always be seen defending our enemies. It is no wonder that they fight to exempt lawyers from anti-terror supporting oaths. A while back, my friend Kathy wrote about how deceptive this banner is, and it still applies today.

So now the ACLU is promoting itself as a champion of both safety for our citizens and of freedom. What a joke! When 9-11 occurred what measures did the ACLU take to ensure our safety? None, zip, nada. This organization has done nothing to ensure our safety, in fact it has chosen to sue our government on behalf of terrorists outside of their legal jurisdiction while they were located in prisons on foreign soil. They have since then demanded that the government release and make public top secret security information regarding not only the activities of our military, but also that of our intelligence forces. They have also initiated one lawsuit after another against the government to stop the searching of individuals for security purposes in mass transit situations, to stop what they call profiling (we will never see a Protestant white middle-aged woman as a terrorist working with an extremist Islamic organization) by race, sex and religion, and to stop the government from detaining and questioning or interrogating individuals who have ties or contact with known terrorist individuals and organizations. They want to kill the Patriot Act because they see the rights of an individual who may or may not be an American citizen as more important than the safety of the nation at large. They want the borders open because they see that as an infringement of the rights of non-Americans to become Americans however they can manage it. They want to have military and intelligence sources, activities, and planning revealed to the public so they can “watch dog” and ensure freedoms of individuals and/or groups are not being compromised, but in doing so will enable those very individuals and/or groups under surveillance the ability to avoid surveillance and possible capture before they do something destructive to American citizens. They say they are for a safe and free America. Yet their actions speak very loudly the opposite of the lip service they give in this banner for a safe America. As to a free America, how free are American’s who live under constant threat of a lawsuit by the ACLU for imagined Constitutional transgressions by a small group of jaded individuals who think their rights are more important than the communities they live in or the country they obviously find such fault with?

As for the part of the banner that says they want a free America, perhaps a better slogan would be….”If standards are good, then double standards must be even better.” When it comes to freedom of speech, the ACLU trip over their own two feet. While the left hand defends the rights of anti-American protesters, the right hand acts to supress the free speech rights of pro-life protesters. When it comes to religious free speech, the ACLU act more like a censor than a protector. The hypocrisy of the ACLU on freedom of speech has even been noticed by its own board members, but the ACLU has a solution to that….restrict their speech. There are very few organizations that are as hypocritical, and dangerous as the ACLU. I really don’t understand why so many politicians sit aside and do nothing to curb the reckless power they have accumulated. However, as many people are seeing in today’s times, when the government doesn’t do what it should, the people rise up and stand up for their own rights. The ACLU and the judicial activists are destroying our heritage, security, and our soverignity. They are doing it with our tax dollars. Join us, and the American Legion to urge Congress to put a stop to this. Support Congressman Hostettler’s legislation to stop taxpayer funding of the ACLU. Waking Up America’s Youth

For those of you that don’t know, I’m Justin H. “Real Teen” from Right on the Right. I have the unique priveledge of being the youngest member of The Wide Awakes, and I’ve now been added to the rotation. Considering TWA was one of the sites that got me politically motivated, this is a real honor. Read some of my stuff and it may come as a shock to some that I’m only 16 years old. I’m one of many American youth that is now Wide Awake.

I decided I would take my first post and focus it on my generation. We’re a generation of outcasts, druggies, goths, rednecks, preps, and geeks, but then again, which generation in the last 60 years hasn’t fit that profile. Do you want to know what’s different about my generation? We know what’s going on. Part of this can be contributed to the internet, and other parts can be contributed to talk radio and more cable news channels, but none of those things truely explain the political awakening in my generation. One day woke up my generation, and that day was September 11th.

I was only in 6th grade and although I was bright, I was utterly confused about what was going on. All I knew was that people were dead, and somebody attacked us. Not having to deal with an attack on America before (having been too young to remember other terrorist attacks), I wanted to know who our enemy was and why they attacked us. I woke up. I was one of many, and those who didn’t wake up to global events would soon, as America went to war. Many teens I know agree with the Iraq War, and countless others disagree. One things for certain though, and that’s that more of America’s youth care now than 10 years ago. We are perhaps the most politically active generation since the 60s, but most of us are on the other side of the spectrum.

We stand up to the rhetoric, debate our teachers, answer our critics, and stand for our principles. We are the enlightened, intelligent, awoken generation. Sean Allen recorded Jay Bennish and argued with him in class, students complained about liberal propoganda films in the classroom, and college Republicans stood up against illegal immigration. This is the awoken generation. A lot of America is still sleeping, but I am one of the many in my generation moving quickly to wake them up. Consider me the teen ambassador to The Wide Awakes.

Fun with News

A few liberties (actually, very few) with editing and the Al Gore story becomes an anti-Hillary story.  Her is the original story if you must see it:  http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/wales/5028470.stm

Gore in Hay Hillary Presidency plea
In his first UK speech on the subject, Mr Gore promised to devote himself to the task of warning people about the impending “planetary emergency”.
He appealed to the audience to act to halt the growing crisis.

“I will own up to shortcomings in my ability to communicate,” said Mr Gore, who ran against President Bush in 2000.
“But I’m not through with this yet and I am devoting myself to it”.

Mr Gore was the key note speaker of the 19th Hay Festival on the mid-Wales border.

Five years ago Bill Clinton spoke at Hay on his many roles in conflict resolution.
But Mr Gore, fresh from an appearance at the Cannes film festival, delivered a starker message that the world was now facing a “danger which could bring the end of civilisation.”
A documentary which premiered at Cannes, An Inconvenient Truth, is based on lectures Mr Gore has been delivering about a Hillary presidency crisis for many years.
He was asked by a member of the Hay Festival audience to run for president again.
But Mr Gore replied: “I honestly believe that the role I can most usefully play is to try to change the minds of the American people…about what this crisis is about.”
He said addressing the issues around the potential Hillary presidency were “on the agenda in 2000 but was never seen and heard as an issue worthy of the top rank of consideration”.
Mr Gore said a Hillary presidency was seen as an “arcane” issue with more than half the US media denying there was any problem and his opponent “pledged to negate it - a pledge not broken until after the inauguration”.
In a passionate speech, Mr Gore said: “We face a challenge in the conversation of democracy that we must be up to in order to save the balance on which our civilisation depends.”
He said he believed scientists who said that there may be 2 years remaining to avoid “crossing the point of no return”.
“Then does that change you? It should, it’s happening on our watch,” said the former vice-president.
He said the only way to bring about the change was “a sea change in the public’s understanding and opinion”.
“The only way that political leaders of all parties will find the courage for the bold actions that are needed.”
Mr Gore was given a standing ovation by the audience whom he begged “to make the changes in your own life to make your part of the solution (to the problem)”.
He said: “There are more than enough people here to really change the world.
“I hope that many of you will accept and act on that - so much is at stake.”

AL GORE IS RIGHT!  WE MUST ACT…AND ACT QUICKLY TO SAVE OUR CIVILIZATION!

Cracker’s Commencement Address, 2006

Congratulations, graduates of 2006.  I am sure you are well aware of the dangerous world into which you are about to enter.  I am also sure you have been indoctrinated with the very finest of liberal ideals and philosophies.  You have been constantly bombarded with information consisting of bad news, horrific stories, and incompetent leadership in and about the United States of America.  It is truly a wonder that you have achieved what you have in these dark and stormy times.

But this isn’t about you.  This is about me, Cracker.  You see, I give up.  You win.  I am no longer going to fight.  I am going to sick back and enjoy the ride.  You see, during this ride, YOU are the driver.

For me and millions like me, we are going to depend on you.  We don’t want you to fight any wars (God knows that would be the last thing on your minds).  We don’t ask that you protect our freedom, country or borders.  We don’t ask that you refrain from corrupting marriage, public schools, or religion.  We are not even going to ask that you put a halt to the socialism and communism that has been successfully propagated by the liberals.

We only ask one thing:  Will you go out into this world and make as much money as you can?

As I said, this is not about you; it’s about me, Cracker, and I’m tired of busting my ass every day for a living wage only to have the government come in and take a large chunk of it.  Therefore, I am going to waste my nest egg, my retirement money.  I am going to go balls out and spend everything I can on useless, materialistic items that I really don’t need or want.  I am going to go into retirement with no money whatsoever, and that is where you come in.

I want you to practice what you preach, to practice what you have been taught.  I want you to subsidize my retirement.  I want you to pay for my wants, needs, and desires when I retire.  I wish to suckle from the teat of mother government.  It’s not that big a deal.  Liberals preach redistribution of wealth everyday, and that is why we ask that you make as much money as possible.  You see, I have worked hard and have become accustomed to a standard of living that is going to cost you quite a bit.

So today you leave as graduates, to start tomorrow as a slave in the real world.  Now go make as much money as you can, or I’ll sue your ASS!  Remember, old people are more apt to vote than young people.

Memorial Day Weekend 2006 Quotes

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag. - Charles M. Province

Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say, ‘What should be the reward of such sacrifices?’…If you love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen. - Samuel Adams

Christ said : Blessed are the peace-makers, not blessed are the peace-sayers. If the world fell into the hands of totalitarian factions, there is still the possibility that they might fight amongst themselves. Surrender to them would not encourage the kingdom of peace and love - and those that desire it, or with passionate intensity permit it, know not what they do… - Michael Novak

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and success of liberty. - The real JFK

The world has no room for cowards. We must all be ready somehow to toil, to suffer, to die. And yours is not the less noble because no drum beats before you when you go out into your daily battlefields, and no crowds shout about your coming when you return from your daily victory or defeat. - Robert Louis Stevenson

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. - John Stuart Mills

Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves. - Abraham Lincoln

History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. - Dwight David Eisenhower

You can fight without ever winning, but never ever win without a fight. - ‘Resist’, by Rush

The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing. - Albert Einstein

In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved. - Franklin D. Roosevelt

Philosophical Differences

Here’s a question that will actually determine a lot about your political position:

Who owns that tree in your yard?

I recently had a discussion with a Lefty Democrat who strongly believed that the tree is “community” property.  He said that government was able to regulate and determine what could happen to that tree because they might have a “good reason” for doing it.  I strongly disagreed.

He also argued that I could “own” something if the government regulated it — in other words, the government isn’t preventing you from owning something if they control where, when, and how you use it.  How’s this example:

If you buy a car, but I take the keys and you can ask me permission when to use it, I tell you how many people can sit in it, I tell you what gas to put in it and where you can drive it, do you actually own that car?  And no, the government is NOT doing this with automobiles today, as I can drive anything in any manner I want on MY property — they just regulate the public roadways.

The conservative point of view says that if a person owns something, they should be able to own it.  If I own property, the government should have no say in what I do with that property unless it conflicts with another person’s rights directly (I can’t build a garbage dump in your backyard).

But the point of view of the left, the Democrats, the media, socialists, communists, and many others throughout history is that everything belongs to the state.  Today’s left has tried to take control by claiming that you can buy things, but they truly own them.  Sure, they will let you think you own it, and they will even tell you that you own it — but they will decide what you can do with it.  For example, you cannot own land today.  Don’t believe me?  See how far you get if you don’t pay your yearly “rent” on your land.

That’s also how they lay claim to “your” wealth.  They claim to be helping others by forcing you to pay taxes — and it is impossible to be charitable with someone else’s money — even if the government claims that’s what they are doing.  It’s a point of view that’s diametrically opposed to what this country was founded upon — because this country was founded on a new idea that had never truly been tried in the history of the world: freedom and individual rights.  Unfortunately, that freedom and those rights no longer apply.

Senate and Bush’s Amnesty

Well, as I’m sure you’re aware by now, the U.S. Senate passed Bush’s Amnesty plan. While some House Members strongly oppose the amnesty/open borders bill, there’s no telling what in the world will come out of the conference committee.

It looks like there will be a compromise bill — a bill that builds a fence AND gives away citizenship like candy. For those who support either position — a fence or amnesty — what’s your feelings on a compromise bill? Do you want to have a bill that gives you some of what you want and some of what you do not want, or would you rather have nothing?

Me, I think it’s all pointless right now because without enforcement, all the new laws in the world aren’t going to effect anything. I’d rather have the regular military stationed on the border with tanks and loaded guns, guarding the country. But given a choice between a bill with a fence and amnesty and nothing, I’d choose nothing. How about you?

Enforcing Immigration Laws

If you follow the immigration issue at all, you are aware that there are certain cities and locales, often referred to as sanctuary cities, that have policies in place to not prosecute illegal aliens. Many big cities, like New York and LA, refuse to comply with federal law regarding immigrants and will not report nor arrest them. Some even claim that they are not “allowed” to enforce that law because it’s a federal law. Those that claim that are simply lying.

If a city was not able to enforce any federal laws, next time a kidnapper flees from one state and enters another, that city would have to say that they couldn’t arrest them because that’s a federal law. Any time a bank was robbed, the local police would have to sit back and watch if they truly didn’t enforce any federal laws. So when someone claims that, know they are making excuses and lying.

However, that being said, while I very strongly disagree with the actions of these sanctuary cities, I absolutely support their right to do exactly what they’re doing. That’s right, coming from this far-right wing conservative, I believe the cities absolutely have the right to do that. It’s how Constitutional government is supposed to work. In 1996, however, Congress passed a law that prohibited states and cities from being sanctuary cities — and that law was upheld in court twice. The federal government absolutely agrees that sanctuary cities are illegal.

But, in a government that’s supposed to be a coalition of United States, they should still be able to set their own rules, despite the rulings from the federal government.

However, the federal government, in this case, can force the cities to enforce immigration law if they like. You see, I strongly disagree with giving money to criminal aliens — and I should not be forced to. The federal government does have the ability to determine who gets money they spend. If any city wants to ignore federal laws, they should be free to do so — and the federal government should then immediately stop any and all payments to the city in any form — highway money, Medicare, Section 8 Housing, etc., etc. The states should be free, but they should be held responsible for their actions.

Shut Up, Mr. Hastert

Denny Hastert is still bloviating that the Justice Department is trying to “intimidate him” because he criticized the FBI enforcing the law. While some people seem to think he’s right, and that the Justice Department has no right to “invade” offices of Congressmen, other people realize that this isn’t an issue between the executive branch and the legislative branch — it IS a constitutional issue, but it’s checks and balances.

As William Teach points out:

Article 6, Section 1 of the Constitution, it says:

“They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.”

Jefferson was busted stone cold in a felony. His office is not immune from search, especially since it is not his, but the property of the People.

The FBI is investigating a felony. The judicial branch of the government agreed that there might be evidence of a felony in the Congressman’s office. TWO branches agreed that there might be a problem with the third branch, so they investigated. That’s exactly how it is supposed to work.

If not, then a Congressman could literally commit murder in his office and then tell the police that they have no right to come in and obtain the body because he’s immune to prosecution. Leave it alone, Mr. Bush and Mr. Hastert — let the FBI do their job.

Hi. I’m Ogre.

Hello. I’m Ogre. If you take a peek over there in the sidebar, you’ll see the schedule for today:
May 26
Fri AM Ogre
Fri PM Rotty Pup or OPEN

Checking out Rotty Pup’s Blog, I see he’s been sick, so I’m guessing he won’t be stopping by this afternoon. Therefore, it seems I’ve got this place all to myself today. This could be fun.

To let you know where I stand, I’m a liberal. No, not a liberal as the left has destroyed the word (like they twist and destroy so many other words) — I’m a liberal as in “classic liberal” or supporter of liberty. To show you my view on the left/right political spectrum, here’s a picture:

Freedom First, everything else fourth. Government CANNOT grant or increase freedom, it can only restrict freedom. So yes, I’m in disagreement with most laws that exist today because their only purpose is to restrict freedom — and that’s always wrong.

On my blog, I focus mainly on North Carolina politics, some national politics and news, and some silliness (every afternoon). So today, here, I plan on dropping a number of comments on news and happenings from a conservative, freedom-based (not Republican or Democrat) point of view. Feel free to stop back and agree or disagree.

Evidence of a Misshapen Mind Inside Bob Kerrey’s Misshapen Skull

Anyone concerned that Bob Kerrey might be too much of a grownup to be running an asylum for pretentious perpetual adolescents like New York’s New School can rest easy now. The former Senator (D-NE) and presidential candidate is defending the unruly students who went haywire when centrist Senator John McCain (RINO-AZ) delivered a recent commencement address at this overpriced daycare center, including one who took the stage to attack McCain personally.

Although Kerrey admitted the kids were “rude, noisy, and disrespectful,” he doesn’t seem to see a problem with that, and added some disrespectfulness of his own by foolishly opining that their Animal House antics were no worse than “the absence of civility and courtesy” shown by McCain himself during Senate debates.

Shamelessly pandering to his ill-behaved students, one of whom denounced Kerrey himself as a “war criminal” for having lost part of his leg in Vietnam, the New School’s president absurdly compared the spoilt brats to the pro-democracy demonstrators killed at Tiananmen Square, and opined that they showed remarkable restraint for allowing McCain to finish his speech at all.

If only all politicians would represent their constituencies as faithfully as the Kook School’s Kerrey, we wouldn’t have to worry about the “immigration reform” monstrosity emerging from the Senate.

Al Gore: An Inconvenient Truth? Or An Obvious Lie?

Crazy Al Gore is at it again with the release of his “film:” “An Inconvenient Truth.” Take a look at the web site promoting the film. The word “truth” is mentioned five times on the front page.

A note of warning: when lefties begin using the word “truth” expect a con job.

For example, when discredited Ambassador Joe Wilson wrote “The Politics of Truth” about the only thing in the book that wasn’t a lie was his name on the front cover.

At Mike’s America we’ve often discussed global warming. A good wrap up of the issue can be found in one of my lastest posts.

The bottom line is that we may very well be experiencing a period of global warming. But it’s the SUN that is causing it on earth, just as the Sun is causing increased warming on Mars.

Just as some have falsely accused advocates of a strong immigration policy of being against immigrants, because we object to ILLEGAL immigrants, there are those who are trying to force the view that any global warming is the result of man’s activity on the planet.

As one who worked for the United States Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, I saw firsthand how dedicated many public servants and advocacy groups are to insuring sensible environmental policies. But I also saw firsthand how a significant sector of the so-called environmental movement is a figleaf for promoting ant-Western, anti-capitalist programs advocated by socialists looking to use environmental issues to support a broader, unspoken political agenda.

You only need ask why China and India and many countries of the developing world were exempted from the Kyoto Protocols, viewed by the left as absolutely essential to control global warming, to understand my point.

Facts vs. Lies or Science vs. Socialism

Amnesty Failure and Bigger Fences

Amnesty works, right?

Remember in 1986, when President Reagan signed the Immigration and Reform Control Act?  The one time amnesty that was supposed to increase enforcment and reduce illegal immigtaion?

Yeah, THAT ONE?????

Well, for a boots on the ground perspective from the guys that fight this battle every damned day on the front frickin line, go read this article.

From that article:

“Every day that President Bush and the Senate hold real border security hostage to their misguided amnesty program, thousands upon thousands of illegal aliens continue to flood into the country,” said the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) Local 2544 in Arizona. “Make no mistake, most of them get by us. We are losing this war, and it’s not even close.”

The Tucson chapter is the NBPC’s largest. The union represents the agency’s 10,000 nonsupervisory agents. More than half of the 1.15 million illegal aliens apprehended last year by the agency were detained in the Tucson sector.

A flood of illegal aliens into the United States has impacted and, in many cases, overwhelmed schools, health care, the environment and the criminal justice system, veteran Border Patrol agents and supervisors in Arizona told The Washington Times.

Go read the rest of it.

And now for someting completely different, may I present you with the comedic stylings of Al?  Al is a first generation Moron, and is active in the field of Idiocy, and his favorite hobbies are drooling on himself while huffing under the stairs and babbling incoherently while begging on freeway offramps.
