While I do believe carol when she says she isn't hardwired to commit murder and doesn't struggle with the urge everyday, I also believe that she is limiting that lack of a murderous urge to physically killing another human being, for all here can attest to the fact that she has absolutely no problem with murdering logic and laying devastating waste to common sense and decency.

Look out, Carol, but you might actually find out that MEN AND WOMEN ARE different! I know, it's shocking news to you, and you'll likely just go into denial, but it's true!

And you're right. Men pay just as much money to go see Quakers at the strip bars as they do the women with fake breasts and g-strings.

And following your logic, why should we stop murderers? After all, they're just going to murder anyway, so we've got no power to stop them.

I think it's best that you stay inside your padded room and don't come out to the real world, Carol.

Twenty year olds in highschool is commomn now, carol? News to me, but given the tougher standards for graduating, the increasingly lower level of intelligence that our highschol students seem to show thses days and a lack of motivation it wouldn't surprise me to have 2o year olds in highschool, but I haven't heard of this phenomenon yet.

Maybe if pop culture didn't puch the sex angle so much things would be different, and this would be a moot point.

Just as a side note, it is this exact lack of moral outrage and perceived loose lifestyle that is one of the major problems that radical islam has with the west.....we are too open and permissive......

The ACLU defends letting kids have sex while telling us that we need to eb more understanding of cultures that stand against us, like radical islam, never seeming to understand that their stance contributes to the hatred our enemies harbor toward us.

I went to the link you provided and it says the ACLU opposes the curriculum for several different reasons.

First because it promotes sexual stereotypes, describing men as strong and courageous and states that "real" women are caring. So men can't be caring? Do you think "caring" is an adjective that should be reserved for women? Men should not care for their wives and children? I guess its not manly. "Real" women are caring. I don't even know what to make of that statement. One thing is for sure though, these type of statements promote different qualities and standards of behavior for men and women. The program also stated that girls should wear modest clothing so as to not incite lustful thoughts. Girls should wear modest clothing because they think highly of themselves. It has nothing to do with men/boys. In fact they could be covered head to toe and men/boys would still have lustful thoughts about them. It hearkens back to the idea that if a woman is raped it must be because of something she did like perhaps the way she was dressed.

The ACLU also cited privacy concerns because the students were required to take a survey asking personal questions that were not anonymous. How would you like to be required to fill out such a survey for your employer?

Lastly, they objected to the curriculum because it leaves them without adequate information to protect themselves from pregnancy and veneral diseases in the event that they succumb to their biological hard wiring. The reality is that the ages of kids in high school is creeping up. Twenty years old in the senior year is not unheard of now days. Moreover the average age of marriage is going up and that isn't creeping but leaping. It is unrealistic to believe that these young adults will wait until marriage before engaging in sex. That doesn't mean we shouldn't tell them to wait. Every year we convince them to wait -to ignore nature's urgings (girls in particular) improves the odds that they will make good choices when they do eventually engage in sex. The reality though is that kids are experimenting at younger and younger ages.

When I was in high school the girls that got pregnant got married and dropped out of school. They didn't have a choice. Pregnant girls were not allowed at school. Nobody wants that for their daughters anymore. Those shotgun weddings worked in the 50s. In the 60s and 70s they just led to divorce. So then you had a bunch of divorced uneducated women with kids so society decided it was probably better to keep the girls in school. Great but shotgun weddings still frequently end in divorce. Okay half of all marriages end in divorce. Parents don't want their sons to have to get married anymore than they want it for their daughters in fact probably less so.

There is a place for abstinence in sex education but sex education shouldn't stop there. Quite frankly, parents who fail to tell their sons and daughters about birth control and measures to take to prevent disease are negligent.

We cannot as a society permit our children to be bombarded with sexual images (magazines, music, television, movies) and then act surprised when they have sex. Taking a hard line that abstinence is the only acceptable route is only going to keep your kids from talking to you. They will go somewhere else for their sex education/ misinformation.
