More riots in France, but this time it isn’t the Muslim community riotingIt seems that hundreds of thousands of young people began to attack businesses and police in their “march” to protest a new law. This law would ease restrictions on businesses on the subject of letting workers go. It seems this law would allow businesses to terminate anyone’s employment at any time during the first two years for no reason at all. France currently has a 23% unemployment rate (youth unemployment that is) and this law stands to make that worse as it will allow companies to hire someone when business is good, but not call them temp work, and still let them go when business slumps. Basically this law draws my classic reply, it’s the right idea with the WRONG execution. This law basically says that businesses have all the rights and workers none. There needs to be a balance in this scenario where workers’ rights are protected, but businesses can still do what they need to do to turn a profit. I don’t see this getting much better, but seeing France in the grips of riots just doesn’t surprise me any more.

How to perform an abortion at home!I’m sorry but this stands to put MORE women in danger than the current state of abortion law. Even if Roe V Wade were overturned on Monday this would be MORE DANGEROUS than that. This person (whom I will not link here) is actually advising on the procedure (and by doing so, advocating) to perform an abortion at home. I’m sorry, but until other types of surgery at home are ONE HUNDRED PERCENT ERROR PROOF AND SAFE this one site should be SHUT DOWN! We have laws that can “censor” some speech if it presents a danger to the public, does this NOT present a danger?
Wizbang Bomb Squad, the story is there, or was on Saturday.
We support the troops but not the war, BULLS&&T!It seems that many groups have chosen to mark the anniversary of our campaign to remove a MURDEROUS, LYING, TERRORIST, DICTATOR from power in Iraq, by protesting the war. It seems they would prefer the mass graves to a democracy in Iraq. This is the same crowd who will say “we support the troops but not the war” in one breath, then call them murderers or worse in the next. We need to speak out that no matter what your views on the war, don’t protest our troops (which is what this group is doing). If you don’t support the war, JUST SHUT UP until it’s over.

Score one for the good guys!It seems a judge has refused to drop the charges against men arrested in an FBI sting based solely on the “defense attorneys’” claim that the wiretaps were illegal. Let me put this as plainly as I can, LEAVE THE FBI ALONE AND LET THEM KEEP US SAFE!

Harry is upsetLet me see, Harry Reid is “ashamed” of the Bush administration, IS ANYONE SURPRISED! I won’t even comment on this as I’ve said MANY TIMES that the current crew of Dems in DC are just an embarassment to the country (with VERY few exceptions).

Could it be that the politicians in Iraq have the right idea?It seems that our sources in Iraq have said that the current state of violence in Iraq has provided a “state of urgency” to set up the new government. Just don’t forget to get the police and military trained and equipped to handle those who want violence.

Well, that’s it for this edition of News and Views. I hope to see this become a regular item here at TWA, but only time will tell. Until my next post, God Bless America!
