From this article in the New York Times comes today’s installment of The Continuing Idiocy Of CAIR. Those of you that are regular readers of this site know that I correspond with CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, quite regularly. Or rather, I used to do so. Recently, however, I caught them in a lie, so now they’ve called me a bigot and stopped communicating. Typical.
Anyway, they put out a press release agreeing with a leftist asshat from the NYT that compared the cartoon riots to the Civil Rights movement in America in the 60’s.
Yeah, RIGHT!!!!!
I took them to task for that, not really expecting a reply, so I was quite amused when I got a reply. More about that reply later.
Please read the article before you comment, otherwise you will be ridiculed for moronic trollish behavior when you display your idiocy.
My words are italicized, quotes from the article are in bold.
Are you seriously agreeing that the violence by muslims in response to the cartoons is the equivalent of the American civil rights movement?
That is what this editorial tries to imply. Civil rights was about giving equal treatment to a group of people that weren’t always treated the same. The cartoon riots are a group of people asking not only for special treatment, but for the world to accept a hypocritical double standard. Unfortunately, most Americans are stupid enough to believe your drivel.
When Americans protest, it is a rarity when violence breaks out, but when muslims protest it is almost a given. Print a cartoon of Christ with a crown of TNT for thorns and let’s see how many embassies get burnt down.
The answer to that, by the way, is exactly NONE!!!!!!
“Apparently refraining from obvious offense to religious sensibilities won’t be enough.”
Then what? What will be enough? An offical U.S. Government holiday in honor of the prophet? Sharia law in America? What would be enough?
“What isn’t a big difference is the Muslim demand for self-censorship by major media outlets. That kind of self-censorship is not just an American tradition, but a tradition that has helped make America one of the most harmonious multiethnic and multireligious societies in the history of the world.”
No. The tradition that has made America one of the most harmonious multiethnic and multireligious societies in the world are twofold. One; Assimilation. Two; Respect for, and the peaceful tolerance of that which offends you. Why does it seem that so many people have such a hard time understanding those simple facts?
“…if you publish things that gratuitously offend ethnic or religious groups, you will earn the scorn of enlightened people everywhere”.
Scorn, to be perfectly clear, (because, let’s face it, your definition of “scorn” may be vastly different from mine), does not mean kill people and burn down buildings.
“Of course, it’s a two-way street. As Westerners try to attune themselves to the sensitivities of Muslims, Muslims need to respect the sensitivities of, for example, Jews.”
I have yet to see this from the muslim community. For example, do YOU think Israel has a right to exist? There is a vast difference, by the way, between respecting the sensitivities of a group, which Israel seems better at than arabs in general, as evidenced by the fact that Israel doesn’t burn down embassies over cartoons, and say, for example, calling for someone’s country to be wiped from the face of the earth. Can you see and respect that “chasm”?
“Most Americans tread lightly in discussing ethnicity and religion, and we do it so habitually that it’s nearly unconscious.”
This is called “political correctness” and it is the scourge of our times. Self-censoring because some people are not secure enough in their beliefs and practices is the absolute pinnacle of an idea that is so anti-American at it’s core as to be almost, but not quite, beyond comprehension. Unfortunately it is reality, so it is not beyond comprehension, and it has been brought about by think skinned groups seeking special privileges and protections.
“Sometimes it feels uncomfortable, but worse things are imaginable.”
Yes, worse things are imaginable. A world dominated by islam under sharia law is much worse to imagine than a world without a religion that exhorts it’s adherents to kill the infidels where ever they are found.
After asking CAIR if they would care to respond to these questions, I received the following reply, which left me staggering, agog at the audacity and inanity that someone could actually, in today’s reality and political climate, call someone an “anti-semite” AND an “islamophobe” in the VERY SAME SENTENCE while exercising the self control necessary to leave out the equally specious charge of “white supremacist”.
My words are italicized, CAIRs are in bold
do you have anything to say to this?
I refuse to have a dialogue with anti-Semites and Islamophobes
That’s rich. Me an anti-semite? Standing as I do, firmly WITH Israel and the right of Israel to exist places me outside of the “anti-semite” category. As for being an “islamophobe”, let me set the record straight. You can look at this article here: ( http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/005950.php ) for a definition that shows why “islamophobia” as a tool of definition is absolutely useless. However, if one is to take the term to mean: “a reasonable person who has a rational opposition to an irrational belief system” then yes, I am an islamaphobe, and a proud one at that.
Islam, with it’s ingrained hatred of Jews, it’s wretched treatment of women, and it’s historical propensity for “dhimmitude”, (the antithesis if Freedom by the way), is completely irrational. The alleged majority of muslims that stand against the radicals in islam is rare to make an appearance, and I have yet to see one counter demonstration at a large gathering of muslims on a rampage protesting against the angry muslims that burn flags and call for the death of the U.S, Israel and whatever other country has angered them that particular day.
Face it, you are losing the PR battle, your religion has been hijacked by people following the rules in the koran, and it seems that this alleged “majority” is either too scared to actively and loudly counter the radicals or they secretly agree with them, which would make them conspirators.
You never did answer the question as to whether you think Israel has a right to exist or not….what’s the matter? Did I paint you into another corner?
There you have it. CAIR won’t answer the question of Israel’s right to exist, and they won’t because they don’t believe Israel has that right.
One last thought on “islamophobe”. Someone that is “phobic” has an irrational fear of something. My fears regarding islam are rational and well founded. Perhaps muslims are “Freedomphobic”.

For example:
University of Delaware President David P. Roselle has faced criticism for failing to enforce a zero-tolerance policy that would expel anyone who engages in offensive speech. Many universities, under pressure to respond to valid concerns, have tried to adopt policies prohibiting speech that offends any group based on race, gender, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.
George Orwell in his novel 1984 not only warned against Big Brother, but what Big Brother stood for. Regulation of thought, speech, action, and intent is the true enemy.
Only liberals would come up with a policy to restrict free speech at a University. I find it comical that during the 1960s and early 1970s Universities were the scene of free speech. But now, unless you conform to mandated restrictions on that speech, you could find your way out of the education that you went there to obtain.
Now it is only restricted to so-called offensive speech, but what happens when that expands to political issues? Are they going to expel the entire membership of Young Republicans next? I see the day.
The only way Utopia is possible is to eliminate free-will. The communist model requires that everyone be the same when it is in human nature to improve ones lot in life. We all have a need to surpass what our restrictions are. It is called free-will. Passing laws or adopting regulations which restrict this growth does not achieve Utopia, it creates tyranny. The true goal of liberalism.
Everything that the common American liberal advocates today is the exact same arguments made in Russia in 1917. Making everyone the same looks good on paper, but is impossible to achieve just as long as people have the ability to change their own position. It is this free-will that creates the need for state, in the case of the former Soviet Union, to adopt restrictions on free-will. To monitor this, a KGB type of organization would have to be formed as to ensure that the people don’t start to meet in secret in order to discuss forbidden speech.
You can forget about opposing view points. The powers that be would eliminate the ability for organized opposition to their positions. Thus maintaining their tight grip on the people. Some Utopia huh.
Today’s liberals all advocate free speech, just as long as you agree with them. Should you take a position where the majority of liberal thinkers object, you are out of line and need to be hushed. Conservatives are the biggest threat to liberals, why? Because we are right.
If left to us, people would be free to speak. If left to us, people would be free to worship. If left to us, people would be free to live. Liberalism is the enemy of all free living, free loving Americans.

What began as something of a joke on far left websites like Daily Kos and the Democratic Underground has hit the big time as one of the left’s leading lights has jumped on the impeachment bandwagon and started it rolling toward an uncertain future.
Lewis Lapham, the iconoclastic intellectual whose lucid, well written essays and columns have been a source of inspiration and thought provoking debate to two generations of American liberals has written an essay in Harpers Magazine calling for the impeachment of President Bush.
It doesn’t matter that Lapham has chosen to base his decision on the “investigation” of Representative John Conyers, a 121 page screed compiled by the Congressman’s staff that charges George Bush with, as Lapham puts it, “crimes against the American people” for perpetrating the war in Iraq. Lapham’s stature alone assures that more serious, sober minded liberals will begin to examine impeachment as a serious issue and will now most assuredly support it if the Democrats were to win the House in November.
The case that Lapham makes is weak, speculative, and full of holes wide enough that George Bush could drive a 10 ton semi through. After all, much of the “evidence” was heard during Conyer’s quixotic and curious hearings on the war and the “untold story” of 9/11. Lapham summarizes the case:
On December 18 of last year, Congressman John Conyers Jr. (D., Mich.) introduced into the House of Representatives a resolution inviting it to form “a select committee to investigate the Administration’s intent to go to war before congressional authorization, manipulation of pre-war intelligence, encouraging and countenancing torture, retaliating against critics, and to make recommendations regarding grounds for possible impeachment.” Although buttressed two days previously by the news of the National Security Agency’s illegal surveillance of the American citizenry, the request attracted little or no attention in the press—nothing on television or in the major papers, some scattered applause from the left-wing blogs, heavy sarcasm on the websites flying the flags of the militant right.
Readers of this site could find rebuttals in the archives to each and every one of those charges (with the possible exception of torture although it may be a stretch to say that the Administration encouraged it to any great degree or countenanced it at all). As I said, it doesn’t matter what evidence Lapham is basing his decision to support impeachment; what matters is that he is influential and that he’s serious.
Dan Riehl is disgusted:
Scratch Harper’s From The List - [t]he list of magazines I’ll ever take seriously, again. What rubbish. As if the majority of America would be interested in anything that idiot Conyers has to say…
Mr. Riehl has a point. In order for there to be impeachment, first one must have a case. Conyers “report” would not be taken seriously anywhere - except a Democratic House. And there’s the rub. If the Democrats take the House in November, they can pretty much do whatever they please up to and including opening impeachment hearings in the Judiciary Committee. The media circus that would follow would guarantee an end to the President’s influence and would destroy the remainder of his second term.
It would also almost insure a cycle of impeachment inquiries - formal and informal - on every President of either party for the foreseeable future. Coupled with the Republicans sometimes unhinged pursuit of Bill Clinton, if the Democrats figure they can base impeachment on demonstrably false allegations or, as in the case of the War in Iraq, carrying out United States policy of regime change then it’s open season on the presidency. It will hamstring the office as future Presidents may feel constrained to act in the national interest for fear of the Judiciary Committee’s gavel.
While that might appeal to a certain libertarian segment of the population, it first of all was never the intent of the founders to have impeachment act as a hangman’s noose dangling in front of the executive. A brake, yes. But when you have the other party gunning for you the minute you sit down in the Oval Office, I daresay such an atmosphere would have an excellent chance of getting a lot of Americans killed given the kind of war we are fighting. More importantly, the power of the legislative branch would be increased enormously if it was a given that a sitting President from an opposing party would need to walk on egg shells lest his political enemies seize the first suspect decision he makes and turn it into an impeachable offense.
Has Lapham gone off a cliff by calling for impeachment? Not hardly. For the left in America these days, there is no cliff to jump off of. As Lapham’s essay proves, they are already in free fall with the bottom of the gorge nowhere in sight.

Okay, I posted on the movie “Valley Of The Wolves:Iraq” a while ago and comments starting pouring in from our beleaugered ally. It turns out I’m a big meanie, oh well, I think I’ll live.
“A Proud Citizen” of Asshattistan writes…
You should say there is a freedom of speech as long as we like it! Last year, the West Wing had an episode of Turkish family who were going to kill their daughter, just because she wanted to divorce. The president of the US, save the young women’s life. Do you think this is really happening in Turkey? Well, I tell you, NO. Instead of swearing at you, we accepted the fact that some you guys are ignorant.
Um, okay, judging by his interesting grammar choices one would think he’d be a bit more familiar with his home country, such as say this…
Preachers Told to Condemn Turkey’s Honor Killings
State Minister Mehmet Aydin made his appeal after Turkish newspapers reported the fatal shooting of a woman on Friday by her two brothers as she lay in a hospital bed in Istanbul recovering from an earlier assassination attempt.
The papers said Guldunya Toren, 22, who came from the town of Bitlis in southeast Turkey, had been killed after giving birth to a child outside wedlock a few months ago. The Vatan daily said she had been raped by her cousin.
Reports quoted a women’s organization, Ka-Mer, as saying there were currently 25 other women hiding from male relatives in Turkey after receiving death threats. Ka-Mer said women could face death simply for failing to cover their heads.
Or perhaps this…
Father strangles 14-year-old daughter in Turkey’s latest “honor'’ killing
Ignoring the pleas of his 14-year-old daughter to spare her life, Mehmet Halitogullari pulled on a wire wrapped around her neck and strangled her — supposedly to restore the family’s honor after she was kidnapped and raped.
Nuran Halitogullari, buried Thursday in a ceremony attended by women’s rights advocates, is the latest victim in a long history of so-called “honor” killings, which Turkey’s government is struggling to curb.
The list goes on asshat, you got anything to say…I thought not. Moving on.
Cihan from North Jerkistan writes…
about the movie:
its comlpetely all about truth.it shows the american crime in our hoods.this is middle east man.get the hell out of here.this is our town
Reyhan from Lower Idiotstan shares this…
hey ım turkish..this film is just telling about truths..americans r killers !!get away from ıraq .stop this..if turks say something it ll happen soon..dont worry!!! IM PROUD OF MY NATIONALITY…GOD BLESS TURKS..
See “Honor Killings” above. Oh, and my buddy MasterGunner much prefers “Ice Cold Killing Machines.” Make a note of it.
Jenissary Aga who dwells in the delightful hamlet of Crackpipistan opines…
have you ever heard Kurtulus War, the war that the Turks get their freedom back from you, the first war made and end with a victory against imperialism which also resulted in a rebellion boycotts and finally freedom in other eastern countries in which yours bloody hands were on.
Our hands were on? Do you mean ‘Merica or just the mean ole’ West? Look, you got your ass handed to you back in the day, get over it, move on. But we/’Merica had nothing to do with it.
Just in case you had any concerns he might be sane he is nice enough to offer…
I think you also don’t know the truths about your country . The Truth is this; you destroyed your twin towers by yourself and named it as terrorism then kept your huge ass over and dropped it Middle east ONLY for oil…
Basarduran who inhabits a quaint cave near Buttheadistan has this to share…
You american people have less IQ and education than our children. The only working part of you is your mouth, brain is out of order. You r living in an unrealistic world.Wake up and see the truth. In addition dont talk about Atatürk without having a brain.
Uh-huh.
Trying to get in the spirit of the thing I offered this…
I think I can play this game too…
Q: How many Turks does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: I’ll tell you when they get electricity!
TrIceCold who shares a nice three flat with his gay lover on the West Side chimes in…
For ignoarnt americans only; no need to write how right we are how wrong you are. one example settles all the discussion on who is more barbaric. You dropped 2 nuclear bombs on Civilian cities in Japan to show your power. 135.000 in Hiroshima which was half of its pop back then and 64.000 people in nagazaki all civilian, women, children, babies in couple of seconds, not tanks, not soldiers. I think even if everything you say was true about Turkey, we still couldnt catch up with you in hundred years. and please educate yourselfs cos your government censors everything and you are not even aware of it.
You’re right! You couldn’t catch up in a thousand years, especially if you keep raping and then killing your daughters, though this may be some subtlety of Islam us decadent Westerners just can’t possibly understand.
Avenger brings us a message from the Religion Of Pieces (ROP)…
u.s. and brits committed horrific acts of violence in Iraq to better serve to their zionist masters…
u.s. is the enemy of Allah and his messenger. Allah can never be defeated, but He will destroy the u.s.
This is the final verdict…‘O mighty u.s., you thought that you were strong, mighty and rich. You thought that you will never face fear, destruction and defeat…But all the things that you had fear of will strike you…You will suffer defeat, poverty, humiliation and finally destruction. It is because you over run the limits, spread injustice, filth and terror…’
Filth? And here I thought cleanliness was next to godliness?
Let’s wrap up this cavalcade of hits with this nugget from Moskit…
The movie is about the facts. Why everybody is getting so upset?
America is evil. Bottomline. -Rus
Let’s just remind ourselves of what we’re talking about here. In the first Gulf War some Turkish special forces guys were embarrassed by our guys, our bad, rather it hadn’t happened, but there you have it.
So what do our asshat allies do in response?
They make a movie which features a Jewish doctor cutting out the organs from living people and selling them on the streets of major cities.
Ex-squeeze me, perhaps I’ve lost my damn mind here but what does that have to do with anything? Our soldiers are embarrassed…It must be the Joos!
This is not the hallmark of sanity folks, it just ain’t.
This just in: Mein Kampf bestseller in Turkey
“A lot of people in the West don’t realize this has always been a popular book among radical Muslims,” says Steve Hagerman, founder of Turkish World Outreach. “They think it’s a tragedy Hitler didn’t win the war. This is symptomatic of growing anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism in the country.”
These are our allies?
There’s lots more wackiness if you follow the links, I only scratched the surface here. I have feeling this post will generate another one down the road a bit.

Intro to behavior modification: If you want to see an increase in a specific behavior, reward that behavior. If you wish to see a decrease in a specific behavior, punish it.
Ivan Pavlov proved this beyond a shadow of a doubt with his experiments in conditioning. Most everyone remembers Pavlov I’m sure. He hooked up a dog to a harness, rang a bell and gave the dog meat powder to induce salivation. In time, the pairing of the bell and meat powder conditioned the dog to salivate and finaly when only the bell was rung, the dog salivated.
A number of years ago, this conditioning was hammered home when I made a trip to the local grocery store. A harried mom with a todler in the basket seat walked down the candy aisle. Suddenly, the kid’s eyes lit on the bag of candies, his face screwed up and without another word, mom reached for the bag of candy, placed it in the basket and the kiddo was all smiles. Wonder how long it took the kid to condition mom?
All this comes to mind following a recent entry by Dr. Helen Smith in her Dr. Helen blog in which she states:
You would think that governments as well as people in general would understand that appeasing and rewarding negative behavior doesn’t work. It’s basic psychology 101–but one that not even most psychology professors understand or put to use. And apparently, this concept is foreign to many of the politically correct persuasion outside the classroom as well–for them, their feeling of moral “superiority” trumps human nature and causes liberals to turn a blind eye to justice and acts of violence.”
“In Bruce Bawer’s new book, While Europe Slept: How Radical Islam is Destroying the West from Within, the side effects of the appeasement of Muslims by the Danish government are clear–as their government pumps more and more welfare money into the pockets of disgruntled Muslims, the rate of violence against “infidels” there increases.”
One would think that this lesson would have been learned long ago, if not by the efforts of Neville Chamberlain than at least from the effects of non-response to the multiple attacks by the Islamofascists of Bin Laden and company. Time and time again the western response to Islamofascist terrorism has been placating the “Arab Street” which has, in turn, shown it’s absolute disdain for western culture by raising the stakes again and again.
This is becoming a sickening ritual. According to Publius Pundit:
The municipal government in Volgograd has decided to close down a local newspaper for printing a cartoon showing Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, and Moses watching a crowd of clashing people while saying, “We never taught them to do that…” The mayor of the city is quoted as saying that the paper was shut down in order to prevent inter-religious strife; meanwhile, the prosecutor-general is looking to file charges.” [emphasis added]
For the life of me, I cannot understand why the west is allowing the threat of mob rule to dictate what the west can and cannot do. Islamofascists have no power other than the threat of violence. Using that threat they have bullied the West into believing that any hint of disrespect to any muslim will result in immediate and violent protest; and the West has bought into the threat.
The answer? Stand up to the Islamofascists and slap them down HARD every time. Jail them, deport them, treat them with the same disdain that they have treated us; our constitutional protections do not extend to those who use violence or threaten to use violence as a means of intimidation. As Dr. Helen notes:
Too bad European countries haven’t learned this lesson–appeasement of violence doesn’t work.”
UPDATE: Nicholas Stix writing at The Intellectual Conservative has some thoughts on reversing the Muslim threat.

Word is, the US will give money to Hamas when Hamas assumes control of the Palestinian Authority in the occupied territories. The state department is selling it as “humanitarian aid,” but that’s pretty much impossible. If Hamas, the known terrorist group who has an open goal of destroying Israel, runs the government and the country (and they will), then it’s quite impossible to give them money to the pseudo-country without Hamas getting it.
Keep in mind, when Hamas says they want “peace with Israel,” as they do, they mean peace as in utterly and completely destroying all Jewish people and taking over the country of Israel. No really, that’s their OPENLY stated goal.
But hey, after all, the US government has so much money, they can just keep giving it away to anyone, anywhere. If they run out, they’ll just take more from the working people.
So you there, reading this, get back to work and earn some more so the government can take it from you and give it to Hamas!

From The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) by Robert Spencer:
With this victory [by Muhammad and his forces in the Battle of Badr, 624 AD], certain attitudes and assumptions were being planted in the minds of Muslims, which remain with many of them to this day. These include:
- Allah will grant victory to his people against foes that are superior in numbers or firepower, so long as they remain faithful to his commands.
- Victories intitle the Muslims to appropriate the possessions fo the vanquished as booty.
- Bloody vengenance against one’s enemies belongs not solely to the Lord, but also to those who submit to him on earth. That is the meanaing of the word Islam: submission.
- Prisoners taken in battle against the Muslims may be put to death at the descretion of Muslim leaders.
- Those who reject Islam are “the vilest of creatures” [Qur’an 98:6] and thus deserve no mercy.
- Anyone who insults or even opposes Muhammad or his people deserves a humiliating death — by beheading if possible. [This is in accordance with Allah’s command in “smit the necks” of the ‘umbelievers” [Qur’an 47.4)].
Discuss.

The same Muslim “youths” who have flexed their muscles by setting thousands of cars ablaze in France have a new feather in their cap: the punishment of Ilan Halimi, who was found guilty of being Jewish.
Halimi was tortured for 25 days for this crime. The kidnappers would call up his family and read them verses from the Koran while he screamed in the background. After they finally let him go, he was found naked and handcuffed, stumbling down train tracks south of Paris, with burns and bruises over 80% of his body. He died on the way to the hospital.
Halimi’s 3+ weeks of torture occurred in one of the many “no-go” areas that Muslims have carved out in Europe — areas in which the police cannot operate freely. Welfare checks go in and violence comes out; that is the extent of these areas’ interaction with the European society around them.
The gang that committed the torture-murder fittingly calls itself the Barbarians. Its core consists of Muslims with roots in Africa.
Our pro-Muslim MSM may try to spin this as a simple crime motivated by money, but the kidnappers never appeared to be serious about collecting ransom. Even the thoroughly dhimmified Washington Post was willing to quote Ilan’s mother, Ruth Halimi, as stating the obvious fact that “If Ilan hadn’t been Jewish he wouldn’t have been murdered.”
The New York Sun goes farther, quoting a police source as stating that the kidnappers’ “behavior was very different from what is usually expected from abductors motivated by greed,” and that one of the kidnappers admitted to putting out cigarettes on Halimi’s face “because he didn’t like Jews.”
Guess what? It’s not just Jews they don’t like. Unless you’re a Muslim, they don’t like you either.
The Wall Street Journal quotes Le Monde — which they refer to as “the voice of the French establishment” — as calling Halimi’s murder “a crime of an era, a sort of looking glass onto the true state of our society.”
True enough — and we’re not just talking about French society. Let’s hope people have the courage to realize it.
Islam is not just another flavor in the multicultural variety pack. It is evil. It offers a stark choice: convert to it, submit to it, or be willing to die fighting it. If Western Civilization hasn’t been rotted away by moonbattery to the point that it no longer deserves to exist, it will choose the latter.

Timothy Treadwell.
His story has a grip on my psyche that is almost obsessive in its magnitude.
For those unaware of his story, he is ‘The Grizzly Man”. He spent over a dozen summers in Alaska, living among brown bears in nothing but a tent. No guns, no bear spray, no electric fences. His film and photography can only be described as amazing. He ‘loved’ ‘his bears’. He felt they were misunderstood as dangerous man-killers. He taught children this message. He took risks no sane man would take. He and a female companion were killed and eaten by ‘his bears’.
Part of the attraction of Mr. Treadwell and his story for me is that I can see the allure. I can understand his fascination. I have more than a few times come upon bears in the wild and each event has been an experience I will never forget. There is a rawness to the meetings. A closeness to nature and the natural world that is hard to describe. A realization that this creature you are staring down can end your life at a moment’s whim. And when it does not, feelings of closeness and awe overtake you. Of being a part of the environment rather than something from the outside. It is a kinship with nature. I am sure this was one aspect of the addiction Timothy Treadwell developed while living in the last frontier.
But my obsession with Mr. Treadwell comes less from the nature of the world than from the nature of the man.
You see, Timothy Treadwell was the quintessential Liberal. I willingly admit that I do not know this man’s politics. But this matters little. It is in his actions that I find the perfect case study. And this is what this man’s life has become for me. A study in the Liberal mind.
I have devoured every book I could find on his life and his unfortunate demise. I have watched all or parts of Werner Hertzog’s documentary “The Grizzly Man” nearly a half dozen times. Seen the reactions of his associates to the documentary. Read numerous articles and blog posts on the subject. Spent literally hours in thought on the mental processes of this man’s mind.
And here is what I have found.
Mr. Treadwell exhibited all of the mental aspects that are the building blocks of the Liberal psyche.
There was his simmering anger at ‘the establishment’ for not recognizing his obvious talents. Treadwell endeavored many times to get his ‘scientific’ study of the brown bears of Alaska recognized by the academic community. He was often at odds with the Alaskan Park Service over his claims of poaching and his ‘protection’ of ‘his bears’. His anger boils over at one point in “The Grizzly Man” when he goes on an extended tirade against ‘the establishment’ and how he is the true protector of ‘his bears’.
Which brings us to the next aspect of the Liberal mind. Narcissism. Treadwell truly believed he alone stood between the bears and their ultimate annihilation. That he was their sole savior.
He longed to be a star. His friends freely admitted his lust to be viewed as ‘a rock star’. He reveled in his appearances on the Letterman and Rosie O’Donnell shows.
In his younger years, if he felt the story of his life was not exciting enough, he would merely change the facts to make it so.
One need only watch his self-important blustering and posturing on nearly every frame of “The Grizzly Man” film to get the point here. ‘Hey look at me, I’m Timothy!’ Like a child crying for attention.
And here we have the next point, a child like naivete. I use the term ‘naivete’ here with reservation as it refers to a lack of understanding of the facts. I feel Treadwell understood the dangers present in his endeavors but either consciously or subconsciously chose to ignore them. His reality would crumble if the truth of the nature of the grizzly were to rise to the surface of his mind.
And every meeting with the bears that did not end in his death simply reinforced this reality for him. He felt no need for the protections most other outdoorsmen in bear country would consider merely common sense…things such as guns, bear spray, electric fences around one’s tent. He felt these things could injure the bears he loved, and childishly refused to use them.
His was a life of activism, another Liberal attribute. Activism is described here as an uncritical, irrational drive toward a particular goal.
Mr. Treadwell saw in his life a chance to prove brown bears were misunderstood as dangerous wild animals. He was driven to make this contention so, the facts be damned. He paid the ultimate price for his dismissal of reality in the advancing of his cause.
Let me close with these last thoughts. I can not deny that Treadwell had a pair of brass ones. No matter the mental meanderings one must enforce upon one’s own psyche, to live among brown and grizzly bears for months at a time alone in the wilderness takes a man of no small mettle. For this he can be admired. But his knowing disassociation with reality always seems to creep back into any honest discussion on the subject. For his life cannot be truly understood without the acknowledgment of the facts of his death. He felt the reason for his life(his activism) was to show the world that it misunderstood ‘his bears’.
The facts of his death proved otherwise. He felt it was his life’s work to protect all ‘his bears’. The deaths of the bears found feeding on his corpse gave lie to this, as well.
Yet in the last moments of Treadwell’s life something happened. While in the jaws of a grizzly, he shouted to his female companion to run. He understood his life was over and tried to save hers. In the final seconds of his existence he left ‘Timothy’ behind and grew up.

If you’re looking for pieces on Jack Idema and his team, please click on this link.
In all of these articles, there is not one single mention of Jack Idema and the two Americans who are being held illegally at Pulacharke. A few small American media outlets repeated the same reporting, and it certainly seems as though they’re relying on the same sources who are outside of the prison for ‘news’ instead of the real story that includes pictures and will soon be bolstered by video.
At Houston Chronicle “Afghan prison inmates riot; 30 people may be wounded” Feb. 26, 2006, 1:01AM Reuters
KABUL, AFGHANISTAN - Up to 30 people were wounded during a riot by inmates, including Taliban members, at a high-security prison in the Afghan capital, officials said today.
The unrest erupted Saturday night after a group of prisoners managed to hold two female guards captive, they said.
About 1,500 prisoners “are involved in this incident,” a security official told Reuters on condition he not be identified.
“It went out of control and a clash broke out between the prisoners, including many Taliban, and the police … Thirty people have been wounded,” he said.
Deputy Justice Minister Mohammad Qasim Hashimzai said some people were wounded, but he had no details.
Footage by private television showed police reinforcements being sent to the Pul-e-Charkhi prison on the outskirts of the city. Repeated gunfire could be heard and officials said that prisoners took control of one wing of the jail during the riot.
I believe this is from the same roto-Reuter report by Yousuf Azimy with additional reporting by Sayed Salahuddin, below. The numbers of the wounded seem exaggerated in their report, not to mention, this one says two female guards were held hostage by the terrorists.
RTE News “Inmates seize control of Afghan prison” 26 February 2006 10:13
The prisoners, 300 of whom are members of the ousted Taliban government, are understood to be refusing to hand over the injured for treatment.
An official said that certain inmates have taken some female prison guards hostage and are apparently threatening to kill them if their demands are not met.
The riot at the prison, some 10km from the centre of Kabul, erupted when guards distributed new prison uniforms which some inmates refused to wear.
Because a month or so ago, 7 terrorists escaped, blending in with ‘visitors’, because inmates don’t look any different than visitors–they haven’t been wearing uniforms.
Xinhua “Riot in Afghanistan’s central jail wounds 6″2006-02-26 16:15:30
….the inmates were demanding meeting the vice president, president of the National Assembly and president of the Upper House of parliament.
The reason for the riot apparently is the distribution of the new uniform to the prisoners, but the director of the prison, Abdul Salam Bakhshi, said al-Qaida and Taliban were behind the riot.
A large number of police and Afghan army troops have been stationed around the notorious jail to tackle with any possible untoward situation.
It is the third riot in the jail since 2003.
In the last one that took place months ago, seven suspected Taliban and al-Qaida members disguising as visitors escaped the jail.
They even ‘faked’ an ink stamp on their hands.
Santa Maria Times “Inmates Riot at High-Security Kabul Prison” By AMIR SHAH, AP
Mohammed Qasim Hashimzai, deputy justice minister, said at least four inmates were injured in the riot Saturday night but prisoners refused an offer for them to be treated. No guards were hurt in the clash.
Bakshi said the inmates had attacked guards and tried to force their way out of their prison block but were stopped. He said the inmates had small knives and clubs fashioned from wrecked furniture. They also set fire to bedding.
Yeah, they refused an offer to have them treated, and they set fire to their own quarters. Not very smart!
Reuters “Militants take over Afghan prison wing, 30 hurt” Sun Feb 26, 2006 10:20 AM GMT12 By Yousuf Azimy Additional reporting by Sayed Salahuddin ~Reuters
PUL-I-CHARKHI, Afghanistan (Reuters) - Taliban and al Qaeda militants took control of a wing of the Afghan capital’s main high security prison and at least 30 prisoners were wounded in attempts to quell the riot, officials said on Sunday.
Most say 6 injured, Reuters says 30.
ABC Radio Australia “Inmates seize control of Afghan prison block” Last Updated 26/02/2006, 20:54:28
The justice ministry says the prisoners have refused to hand over the injured for treatment, while the male prisoners have also reportedly taken some women inmates hostage.
It is unclear what the prisoners want.
These reporters seem to be confused. I’ve seen reports that indicate that women GUARDS were taken hostage, this one says women INMATES, and in one report, it said they were in the women’s section of the prison. Seems as though they’re having a difficult time keeping their facts straight.

This is a photo of moonbat Vicky Leidner who played the part of Lady Liberty in a street performace by the “Raging Grannies” in an anti-wiretapping vigil hosted by the American Civil Liberties Union. She fell to her knees and rolled on the concrete, while the crowd yelled, “Don’t give up!” Then other brightly dressed leftwing loonies came over and started reading the Bill of Rights, which gradually revived her to her feet, with fake blood on her face.
The vigil, sponsored by the ACLU, Code Pink, and the Raging Grannies of San Francisco, featured speakers from various organizations, private citizen testimonies, and the activist flock singing classic tunes with supplanted lyrics for their cause and waving flashlights and electric candles to “shed the light on secrecy.”
“We want accountability, why did he (Bush) skirt the law,” asked Jessie Neufeld, 24, of San Francisco.
The crowd sang, “You better not doubt I’m telling you why, the NSA is spying on you,” instead of Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
According to moveon.org, groups held smaller vigils in Pacifica, Mill Valley, Vallejo, San Leandro, Berkeley, and three in Oakland, including one at Splash Pad Park as a coordinated campaign. The speakers urged people to write letters to Nancy Pelosi urging an independent investigation into the program.
Jeff Mittman repeated the popular false mantra of comparing a program of listening in on the telephone conversations of American citizens talking to suspected members of al Qaeda to illegal wiretapping of Dr. Martin Luther King.
“In the 60’s we spied on Dr. King illegally and in response we passed the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which is binding on the president. His spying program is not legal.”
Freedom of speech is a beautiful thing. Among many of its glories is that raving moonbats can demonstrate in public and make total idiots out of themselves.

I am ROFLMAO
Cuz the moojies say some cartoonists must go
While the MSM in the USA
Refuse to jump into the fray
The DOS unequivically states
Publishing those toons was in bad taste
And the OAS continues to yell
That those damned cartoonists
Will burn in hell
Then in the EU some papers do dare
To print the offending cartoons without care
The papers, the blogs and even the news
Have taken to showing these horrible toons
Old mo with a bomb strapped up on his head
Is a picture that may make you very much dead
While showing old mo at the pearly gates
Lacking virgins for martyrs will surely sow hate
These toons are a lie claim the swarthy imams
Take them back, take them back, or we’re coming with bombs
But a cross in a jar that’s all full of piss
Is simply just art and we must live with this
Or painting St Mary from elephant scat
Is art, don’t you see, and so that’s where we’re at
Our freedom to speak from our heart and our head
Has been stolen by people that’d see us all dead
Or cowering, veiled and in subjugation
These people would take down our glorious nation
So I have a message for those screaming imams
We’re locked and were loaded, so bitch, bring it on!!!!

Don Knotts has died at the age of 81. Besides the Andy Griffith show, I remember Don Knotts as part of the duo with Tim Conway as the Apple Dumpling Gang from my youth. Hadn’t thought about those movies for probably 20 years until just about 5 minutes ago. My have to throw them into my queue at Netflix. Anyways, my thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Knotts family and friends.

Is this the direction America is headed? Is this where the ACLU, and the “right to die” folks will take us? In England, a judge has ruled for doctors to withold life support from a two-year old, brain damaged child, Charlotte Wyatt. This is all in despite of the parents’ wishes. The parents have no say so in the life of their child. They are asking for our prayers. I think that is the least we can do.
The parents of Charlotte Wyatt have been told that doctors are to be allowed to let their profoundly ill baby daughter die if they feel it is in her best interests. A High Court judge yesterday lifted a previous ruling that she should always be resuscitated, on the grounds that the two-year-old was now on a “downward rather than an upward trend”.
Mr Justice Hedley heard an emergency application from doctors treating her that she had developed an aggressive chest infection and was unlikely to survive any moves to keep her alive.“Medical evidence speaks with one voice, that ventilation simply will not achieve the end for which no doubt the parents would wish,” he said. Charlotte’s condition was said to be “deteriorating” last night. Her mother, Debbie, 24, from Portsmouth, still believes that if her daughter were ventilated she would recover.
But Mr Justice Hedley said there had been a “very significant deterioration in Charlotte’s condition”. It is the fifth time he has had to make a ruling about Charlotte’s treatment.
Doctors at St Mary’s Hospital, Portsmouth, had previously argued that her life was so intolerable that if her condition worsened they should be allowed to withhold treatment. Charlotte suffers from severe lung, brain and kidney damage. But her condition improved so much that last October the judge removed a ruling allowing doctors to let her die.

Al Qaeda is now trying to take over Pol-e-Charkhi prison.
First Panjshiri Commandos arrive tonight at the Task Force Saber upper lobby in the Pulacharke General Officer’s area. Lt. Banderas speaks as Major Ezmerai and Captain Faiz arrive with 15 more of Jack’s former Commandos, brought in to provide protection for TF Saber as government forces battle Al Qaeda. “Relax, we have enough grenades and ammo to kill all those fuckers if they get through the government forces,” Jack said from Pulcharke by NA satellite phone at 11:57 EST.
Jack and his men are in a battle. More Pansjiri soldiers are arriving. They already have several hundred Northern Alliance mujahedeen protecting them, but more are entering the compound.
Update to follow later today.
Just watch: The media may not report this AT ALL!!!!!

9PM- KABUL TIME ZONE- PULACHARKE: Hundreds of Taliban and al-Qaida Prisoners have revolted at Pulacharke Prison Compound in the wake of tighter security measures by Northern Alliance Commanders after last month’s escape of 7 top Taliban prisoners during Sunday visiting. The Taliban prisoners had exchanged clothes with visitors, falsified arm IDs for visitors, and slipped out as 750 visitors left. Who was the man responsible for the escape? None other than a US State Department “agent.” An Afghan Pashtun General who was on the US Embassy’s payroll, had been sent on all expense paid trip to America by Jack Idema’s enemies in the US Embassy, and had been paid bribes to inform on Afghan political and military meetings with Jack. The general was fired just one week ago. To impose tighter security all terrorist prisoners were to be issued prison gray clothes today. The revolt had allegedly been planned more than two weeks ago. It started sometime around 8pm tonight according to Afghan CIA sources.
10PM- KABUL TIME ZONE- PULACHARKE: As of 11am EST, reports from Pulacharke officials, confirmed that hundreds of soldiers had been dispatched to Pulacharke Prison to stop an ongoing takeover attempt by the terrorists. General Salem-Bashi had placed a perimeter between the terrorists and Jack’s compound. 75 Northern Alliance commandos, all former Massoud bodyguards, were being sent to surround Jack and his men, sources inside the Ministry of Defence say that Jack’s team had been issued Kalikov machineguns and grenades for personal defense. The uprising is ONGOING and news will be posted hourly as we receive it by phone from the World’s Most Infamous Prison. If al-Qaida and Taliban insurgents make a move for Jack, it would be the 12th assassination attempt in four years, and the 9th attempt at Pulacharke.
10:30PM- KABUL TIME ZONE- PULACHARKE: Sources inside Bagram say the US Embassy has refused to provide air support and assistance to Northern Alliance Commanders attempting to contain the uprising. More than 500 rounds were fired in the first hour of the revolt. The National Army has been ordered by Karzai not to fire on his “Taliban brothers.” Northern Alliance Mujahadeen are arriving by dozens to make the stand against al-Qaida and Taliban terrorists. Northern Alliance troops have been activated to block two mountain passes near Pulacharke on an intelligence tip that says a Taliban military force is moving towards Pulacharke to assist the revolt from outside.
11:00PM- KABUL TIME ZONE- PULACHARKE: More than 1000 rounds have been fired at Pulacharke Prison.
PULACHARKE PRISON still in firefight and ongoing al-Qaida and Taliban terrorist revolt. Ministry of Justice and Panjshir Commandos trying to contain 700 revolting terrorists. National Army told to not fire on “Taliban brothers” by President Hamid Karzai. US Embassy refuses air support and troops to stop terrorist takeover. 1000 rounds fired in last three hours. Massoud bodyguards sent to prison to support Jack. Jack’s Saber 7 Team in fortified position; MOJ declines letting Jack and his men attack terrorists in “open air assault” offense tactic to put down terrorist revolt. Northern Alliance commanders arrive to take control of situation. General Fahim activates Mujahadeen militia which fought with US Special Forces to block a possible al-Qaida/Taliban rescue attempt from outer areas Terrorist force believed to be led by Mullah Mujahadi, a famous Taliban Division commander.

END BREAKING NEWS- SATURDAY 11:25pm KABUL TIME
Thanks to Dan in my comments section, the BBC is the only news outlet that I’ve seen so far that has picked up the story here:
‘Riot’ at notorious Afghan jail
Hundreds of prisoners are barricaded inside one wing of the jail, parts of which are on fire, the authorities say.
Gunfire has been heard coming from the jail. Trouble apparently started after a change in prison uniform rules.
Police have sealed off the affected wing and no-one has escaped, jail officials say. Interior Ministry reinforcements have been sent in.
Pul-e-Charkhi is a huge prison complex built in the 1970s on the outskirts of the capital. It is used to house common criminals as well as al-Qaeda or Taleban-linked militants.
Last month, seven Taleban suspects escaped from the jail, with prison guards accused by officials of helping the break-out.
Correspondents say the vast and rundown jail is notorious for the disappearance and torture of thousands of Afghans during the communist era.
No more faking a stamped hand and blending in with exiting visitors now, I guess…awww. And Al Q and the Taliban apparently object to this “unfair” treatment–so much that they start a riot, and call in reinforcements from the mountains to help them from the outside. Considering the fact that so many of them have escaped from Bagram, and Karzai is giving amnesty to the Taliban, I bet there are a lot of soldiers on the ground (including the Coalition forces and the M16) wondering what the hell we’re doing!
The president’s press secretary is denying any problem at Pulacharke according to radio. Bagram’s Reaction Force was told to stand down by the State Department.
We need bloggers to pick up this story, these men deserve to be released!!!
MIDNIGHT- KABUL TIME ZONE- PULACHARKE: Northern Alliance led forces storm through gates at Pulacharke Prison. General Salem-Bashi leads swarms of troops into Pulacharke Prison at midnight tonight in an effort to contain al-Qaida terrorists. The Prime Minister confirms his support of Mujahadeen forces and Task Force Saber.
New intelligence from MOJ Command indicates that TF SABER FORCE is not a primary target of al-Qaida during revolt. Afghan intelligence believes that the prison revolt was planned and organized after President Hamid Karzai ordered amnesty given to 500 Taliban insurgents last week. Taliban terrorists, who had bombed, murdered, assassinated, and beheaded both innocent Afghans and foreign soldiers and aid workers, were given complete amnesty, $100, a certificate of welcome into the government, and a PAKOL to replace their black turbans before having their royal terrorist asses kissed by Karzai.
The Pakol is the flat hat worn by the Northern Alliance, and one source INSIDE the palace says that the idea was put forth by US STATE DEPARTMENT political advisors to blend terrorists and pro-freedom Northern Alliance troops together in pictures and video taken by the press covering the event. We find this deploring and sickening. All of us here on the SuperPatriots’ Support Team and website staff have brothers in arms that died during the 2001/2002 war, and have kept dying since, to give Karzai his throne, and to reward our enemies for killing us is an act of treason by Karzai who is still a US CITIZEN. Apparently upset that Karzai was granting amnesty to Taliban still fighting and allowing them to return to the battlefield with a clean slate, yet unable to release the Taliban scum now under Northern Alliance led Parliament control at Pulacharke, the terrorists decided to revolt.
Our vote is to let Jack and his guys loose in there and let them kill every last one of the terrorist bastards. And then let the Northern Alliance put Karzai on trial for war crimes. Or better yet, someone needs to take him down in an American court.
