All I wanted for Christmas was international borders for the United States. You know, those old, archaic things that define where one country ends and another begins. They used to be pretty common, but anti-Americans (also known as progressives) oppose them, and few politicians have the guts to enforce them, so the U.S. really doesn’t have any today.
However, just before Christmas, I got half my present — The Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005. This good bill passed the House, but faces quite a bit of doubt in the Democrat/RINO/Obstructionist Senate.
This bill’s primary purpose is to secure the U.S. Borders. Why could anyone be opposed to that? As usual, just follow the money. Did you know that Mexico’s #1 source of income for it’s economy is Mexicans bringing money in from America? Do you know how much money is spent by the US government in Mexico? Do you realize how many billions of dollars can be spent by politicians as long as immigrants are illegally entering the US?
For example, Hillary Clinton, socialist pretending to be American, wants very badly to be president and to control and nationalize all health care. That will give her great control and power — things she and other politicians simply live for. If they can keep immigrants coming in, health care will continue to have trouble, and they will be able to nationalize health care. So this type of politician will never oppose illegal immigration.
One part of this new law would build a 700-mile fence along the border that will reduce illegal crossings. They know this type of fence will work to reduce criminals from crossing the border because where it’s been tried, it works.
Of course, those in the mainstream media, who support illegal immigration, are asking what to do with the 10 million or more criminals currently in the country illegally. The obvious answer, and one that Tom Tancredo is working on, is to punish the companies that are illegally hiring the criminals to work for them. There is a simple system in place to verify that a company who hires people only hires U.S. Citizens. It’s voluntary, but it should be required.
Once the illegals couldn’t get jobs, the next step would be to deny them benefits. If they’re not getting free education and free health care (paid for by hard-working citizens), and they can’t find a job, they’ll go home or enter legally. Of course, if that doesn’t work, I have a backup plan for them:

Ogre,
I really think that the border is going to get some attention, but I am afraid it will not be until the 2008 campaign. Tom Tancredo from Colorado has already stated that he will run for President, if no one picks up the border issue, to his satisfaction. At that point, he should make some noise and should garner some support, at least enough to get the other candidates’ attention.

I’m afraid you’re right.
And Tom has already got my vote for President — I don’t see anyone else worth a vote even talking about running.

Ogre,
Outstanding article!
I predict that the border issue will be a dominant theme in the next National Election.
The recent elections in Virginia are a bad sign, though. The candidate who won was an open-borders kind of guy.

You’re right as rain, Ogre! Living in SW Arizona, I can’t hardly wait to see construction start — hell; I’ll even come out of retirement and grab a shovel!

Know what would be really funny? If they used illegals to build the damn fence…
