They have tons of laws to nail you for abuse and neglect, but also tons of laws to restrict or usurp your authority. I was actually hauled in by child services for slapping my 14 yr old daughter in the face (not hard) for cussing at me. I was told I had no authority to do it, and could lose custody if I did it again. Yeah, I can't wait to move somewhere more sane like Communist China.
