OK, so you gripe that he won’t sign the form — then he does.
Now you’re griping that he hasn’t mailed it in.
Next, you’ll gripe that the Post Office is slow in delivering it and blame it on Kerry.
Then, you’ll gripe that his records are fine and dandy — just like the US Navy has claimed.
Why aren’t you holding W’s feet to the fire over his promise to deliver Osama? Seems like that’s a much more important promise for a politician to keep!
Comment by Randy Case — 5/31/2005 @ 9:42 am
You missed one very important thing: Catching Osama isn’t within Bush’s control–there are a lot of mitigating factors there. Like actually finding him, for one thing. For another, convincing the terrorists to give him up; which probably won’t happen easily. There are a billion or so muslims in the world, Al Qaeda is a pretty large organization and he’s pretty well protected, obviously. You think Bush is some kind of God or mystic or something that he knows where Osama is and isn’t doing it on purpose?
Kerry’s 180 is totally within his power to do something about. It isn’t unreasonable to expect him to deliver on such a simple thing, yet he has dragged his feet for over 5 months on this. Putting pen to paper and getting it to the right people shouldn’t be that difficult…THINK about it rather than just oppose Bushitler and the military on every single thing.
But then…common sense completely left you guys a long time ago.

It seems that leaving troll droppings is more important to liberals than making sure their leaders have nothing to hide.
Yes it is a poblem that he won’t mail the form. Why? Because its a stalling tactic. Stalling, delaying, and obstructing are the teachings of the religion of liberalism.
How long does it take to sign a form? It took John Kerry from January 30 until May 25 to sign a form. Now how long to mail it? Perhaps his abilty to stall will reach beyond the grave. Because at the rate this idiot operates, he’ll be dead and burried before we get the poop, the whole poop, and nothing but the poop on his service.
Comment by Gribbit — 5/31/2005 @ 10:11 am
I don’t know what to say! I think it is rare here to actually see a liberal wanting to capture a terrorist. But they will probably want him to be put on a liberal retreat somewhere.

Nice to see so many people selectively honoring our vets. Like him or not, Kerry is a vet too and deserves the same respect.
Comment by KraftyOne — 5/31/2005 @ 12:57 pm
Nice to see lefties forgetting that not so long ago they were screaming BUSH WENT AWOL! hehehe. Kerry got his discharge 6 years after he left the military so I want to know what was so “honorable” about it. And there are a lot more questions 250 swifties have about it, so maybe you ought to check your history of John Kerry meeting with Madame Binh in Paris, which last time I checked, falls under aiding and abetting the enemy in a time of war. That falls under the designation of “treason”. So I want to know what his records say about his first purple heart, his Christmas in Cambodia and all the other crap that he’s said to the public which his campaign admitted were outright lies.
Kerry’s chain of command said he was a loose cannon who needed to be watched all the time; hell, he even inflicted an injury on himself that he wrote his own paperwork for an award for. That’s not someone to be respected, that’s someone to be questioned.
For you to say someone like an Pantano and a Coburn are the same, I have to beg to differ. One is a courageous hero who acts under fire and motivates men, the other is a lazy man who barely made it into the marine corps who can’t follow directions and could get all his brothers at arms killed for his stupidity.
That’s what Kerry was, and that’s why they were glad to be rid of him after only 4 months of taking movies of himself in Vietnam (don’t forget he took a movie camera with him to film his exploits, sometimes in other than a navy uniform!) He also bragged that he was working for the CIA, lol. What a creep. I’ve met guys like that, they’re insufferable poseurs.
One of them deserves respect, the other one doesn’t. Serving your country means actually serving instead of rooting for the enemy to win.
Comment by Cao — 5/31/2005 @ 1:17 pm
Hey KraftyDude: Have you read “Unfit for Command” yet? Read that and tell me that Kerry’s a legitimate vet. I’ll call him a VINO and cheer him with a wee clap, so: ::one hand clapping::
I’ve considered you one with a somewhat open mind at times in the past, so I bet you’d consider the book carefully, compiled by comments from so many eyewitnesses as it has been.
On the flip side: you must then respect Pres. Bush for having served in the TX Air National Guard (and having been a damn good pilot to boot).
Comment by The MaryHunter — 5/31/2005 @ 1:21 pm
Bush released his records, so what’s the problem with Kerry and why is it a problem for dems to realize that it’s perfectly reasonable for a man to be expected to keep his word?
Nice to see after that BUSH WENT AWOL crap the left was whining that things aren’t the same when the shoe is on the other foot.
The difference is; Bush served his time and got an honorable discharge. What happened to Kerry? We won’t know until we see those records, and besides. He promised the American people on National Television on Meet the Press on Tim Russert’s show over 120 days ago that he would sign the 180 and release his records.
Are the dems afraid of what’s in them, or what?

“Nice to see so many people selectively honoring our vets. Like him or not, Kerry is a vet too and deserves the same respect.” - perhaps once he signs his form we will be able to believe he is an honorably discharged vet. Until then, all he is doing is calling his service into question by delaying. /TJ
PS - Jay - excellent response!

Anyone have any quotes of me saying that Bush went AWOL or doing anything other than saying that he served his country as well? Didn’t think so…
I too like to know the truth about things. I would like to see his records. I just think that if he served his country, until someone can actually PROVE anything that MAY be true about him, then he deserves the same respect as other vets.
I don’t care that Bush probably joined the Air National Guard to avoid combat. So what? He served, and for that, he gets my thanks.
Kerry chose to go to Vietnam. He put himself in dangerous situations. He also filmed it for posterity. So what? He served, and for that, he too gets my thanks.
Until someone has real proof of anything, (not just conjecture or second hand guesses), you will not hear me say anything negative about his service.
Maryhunter: I would love to read every book that gets recommended to me. Unfortunately, I’m about 10 deep in books that I need to read. Maybe someday I will have all the time I need to read all these books…..
Comment by KraftyOne — 5/31/2005 @ 2:30 pm
As I remember it, Kerry didn’t choose to go to Vietnam, he tried hard to avoid it.

Correction: Kerry wanted to go to France on a student deferment and was denied. He didn’t want to serve at all! But since that ruse failed, he then chose to be a swiftboat operator, (thinking he wouldn’t be facing any combat in that situation) not realizing where he’d finally wind up. No, Kerry did not chose to go to Vietnam. His first choice was France, lol. Why do you think everyone is always making jokes about John Kerry speaking French and with a french beret on his head? Because he likes pate de fois grois?
Comment by Cao — 5/31/2005 @ 5:36 pm
Well, I didn’t know that he tried to get out of combat. I guess he just wasn’t as well-connected as Bush.
Anyway, I’ll still wait to see that form before denouncing his serving our country.
Comment by KraftyOne — 6/2/2005 @ 12:28 pm
Bush only released part of his records just like Kerry did. He did not release them all. Bush is president Kerry isn’t why is it more important to see Kerry’s records than Bush’s? Furthermore those documents that Rather got in to so much trouble over were never proven to be forgeries or phoney. Their authenticity was questioned and the problem was for Rather was his and his show’s failrue to prove they were authentic before airing the report. The jokes associating Kerry with the French arose from him having spoken in France in perfect French at a that many Americans were bashing the French and all things French including anyone who spoke perfect French and lest we forget Kerry also has some French blood. Teh purose behind associating Kerry with the French was to associate him with soemthing some Americans saw as unpatriotic. Gasp he not only visited France but he speaks French gasp he must not be a true blooded American patriot gasp. Further evidence of is perfidity if such were needed gasp. Some people really buy into crap like that.

For those who say that Kerry deserves respect as vet, chew on this. I would respect Kerry if he at all deserved it or his actions warrented it. Until then he remains a scumbag at the very least and a traitor at the most.
Comment by the_mad_tech — 6/2/2005 @ 5:09 pm
Um…chew on what? You didn’t give us any information TMT…
Comment by KraftyOne — 6/2/2005 @ 5:17 pm
He was the one that made being a “war hero” the cornerstone of his campaign. he was the one who said the swifties were part of the Bush campaign, and he was also the one who wanted AWOL Bush to release his records.
Now the smoke has cleared. Enough of the American people looked into his record in the Senate (the most extreme leftist voting record), and laughed at his “war hero” story when he threw away his medals. No wait. They weren’t his medals, they were someone else’s. Now that it’s fashionable to have medals displayed in his office, he does. But are they his? Only his hairdresser knows for sure.
At any rate, a lot will be settle when he finally gets around to delivering on his promise to Russert on Meet the Press…I know he took it literally to mean I signed the 180 now get off my back, but we want to see the records.
It will clear up a few things, not the least of which is…he didn’t get his discharge until 6 years after he left the Navy. Was it an honorable discharge? Being that witnesses place him at a meeting of Vietnam Vets against the war where they conspired to murder senators, I’d like to know.

Krafty One: John Kerry is the kind of “vet” who Patton would have slapped; his “antics” could be described as attempts at self-inflicted wounds in order to avoid service. How amazing it is that he achieved so many purple hearts in only 3 months. Why, he must have been a proverbial Rambo out there in the Delta. Amazingly, his leadership was such that he was more than happy to leave his troops in the field while he was “short toured” out of country. Such conduct is not acceptable from anyone in our military, and much less so from an officer. He disgraced himself, the uniform he wore, and the nation he represented. Then of course, he embarked upon his “political career” on the corpses of his brothers in uniform. Now, if you think that any of this is acceptable behavior, then you know absolutely nothing about the proudest job anyone can ever have: Being an American serviceman.
Carol: John Kerry made this entire subject part of HIS political campaign. George Bush did not get up and announce, “Reporting aboard.” Let me say that after 29 years of active military service, most true patriots are rather modest about their service. People who have won the Medal of Honor, Navy Cross, Distinguished Service Medal, Silver Star, and Purple Heart are much more often than not, humble servants of the people. John Kerry stood up and said, “Hey – look at me! I’m a hero.” And this of course proves that he’s not only full of himself, he’s a liar. True heroes do NOT abandon their shipmates for political gains. I won’t go into the Rather-Gate episode because it is clear to almost any reasonable person that Rather has a bias against anyone named Bush. I will only say that in the Rather-Gate episode, Danny boy proved that he has no integrity whatsoever; he, as a journalist, is responsible for objective reporting, not political payback. I suspect that you would not want to be treated that way — why should President Bush?

Carol,
Was it French that Kerry spoke to the commie North Vietnamese while in Paris?
Of course it was an illegal meeting with the enemy, well America’s enemy
anyway..
I’m glad Hanoi Johnny is your boy, he fits right in with your crowd..

Bush made it part of his campaign too and was even more undeserving than Kerry in this regard. And Patton would have slapped Bush down too.
