This is how I see the American Right, where we stand and what we believe, without the religion tossed in…..YET!!!!

We are tired of paying high taxes to support the dregs of society….pulling down the cream to raise the dregs is evil and supports laziness and rewards stupidity.

Work Hard, no one owes you a living, a house or any education beyond basic reading, writing and math. If you want a better lot in life work for it, it is there for the taking IF you have the drive and intelligence.

We won’t let you starve in the streets but don’t care if you want to be lazy and live under a bridge.

If you are truly handicapped we will help you…alot….but of you try to pull that mental handicap crap you had better be a real good actor or seriously demented. If you are seriously demented and you get violent we lock you up…for life, we don’t need violent people wandering around.

If you commit a crime you go to jail where you will be punished….alot…we don’t need stupid people walking around.

If you kill someone and it is NOT in self defense you go to jail….we don’t need violent people walking around.

If you do it in a heineous manner we will kill you for it….not only do we want violent people locked up we don’t want to house you for the rest of your life at our expense.

The money we make should be, for the most part, ours…..not the governments to fritter away for more social programs.

We should have a very secure border, and people that sneak in are criminals and should be bagged and tagged so they can never come back.

A proactive offense beats the hell out of a reactive defense anyday….reactive defense is for cowards and victims….and we are neither.

Our money that we pay in taxes should stay at home….countries that get aid from us and hate us anyway should be told to fuck off..it is not our governments job to make sure that people that live under corrupt third world governments and starve are fed…..that is THEIR governments job.

The UN is an anti-American group and should be tossed out of America and told to shut their useless mouths.

The ACLU is an evil organization that should be charged as a criminal organization.

Capitalism is good, socialism is evil.

The individuals socio-economic mobility is the backbone of a great country, and small business is the backbone of socio-economic mobility.

Radical environmentalists have done more damage to business in the U.S. than any other single factor and should be taken to task for it.

The individual should decide how much charity to give, and not government….my money is just that, MINE!!!!

Rapist, murderers, pedophiles, thieves, drug addicts and whiners are NOT “victims of their misunderstood childhoods”…they are rapists, murderers, pedophiles, thieves, drug addicts and whiners, and with the possible exception of the whiners they should all go to jail for a very long time….except pedophiles…..they should be shot upon conviction.

Oh yeah….political correctness is bullshit….either grow a thicker skin or go away….sometimes life isn’t fair….deal with it….and you have absolutely NO RIGHT whatsoever to NOT be offended!!!

3. Kender, I think it is well known that I count as a liberal, part of the American left. Much of what you said, say 90%, I agree with unedited. Sometimes I think our differences, those of main stream left and right, lie more in how we frame our beliefs. Case in point: You don’t understand where the racist comment came from. Well it came from your use of the word political correctness. Yes their are people out there who try to classify any statement they don’t like as not being PC. However, most of us liberals use that term strictly to describe racists or sexists comments. In other words using the “n” word would be politically incorrect. Saying “you people” is not and if you think it is then you’re right -you need to grow a thicker skin. Telling peopel you shoudl n’t use the term “flip chart” becaue it might offend Fillipinos just simply makes you an idiot. Some companies actually pay good money for people to be idiots and dream up this stuff.

4. Carol, you agree with most of what I said because in reality you aren’t such a moonbat but rather you have common sense, it just lies dormant a lot.

   That is all I wrote….common sense…no epiphanies…no earth shattering insights….plain old common sense…the reason you have a 10% disagreement rate with what I wrote may be due to the fact that you may not be able to distingiush between a mean remark and “political incorrectness”, or as those with clear minds call it, BULLS**T!!!

   The words “you people” for example, can be much meaner to say to someone than an outright racial or sexist remark.

   Using a phrase such as “you people” shows a serious lack of respect for your targets comprehension, as it says to them,

   “I will say “you people” instead of calling them “whiny socialist bitches” because they will never think that I am a mean person that thinks badly of them”.

   You see?

   So now you understand that IF I were going to call you a name, which I am not, (really I’m not…well maybe I’m not) then saying “you people really need to grow a thicker skin and get over yourselves” is much meaner, (not to mention constricting to my freedom of speech) than saying “You whiny socialist bitches need to chill the hell out and get over yourselves”.

7. I told you guys I used to be a Republican. I was raised in the south you know. Why one of my most treasured possessions is a Wallace vanity plate with NIXON spray painted over it. (My parents were very divided politically) That said, most of my firends are also liberal but we aren’t stupid! Most of them would also agree with what Kender wrote in his post. (That is 90% of this post-emphasis on this.) We would have said it differently perhaps. Being liberal doesn’t mean you don’t believe in the death penalty, or prisons or that the UN has problems (but we would like to see them fixed not abandoned) or that we don’t get sick of political correctness. Especially political correctness! You all is not an offensive expression! Unless you are a twit looking for an excuse to take offense! Ask any southener, and he or she will tell you that expression is as common as saying you are fixing to do somethng. Come on Ogre, I realize we have had our disagreements but you got a back me up on this boy.

8. Carol? Being raised by “suth’nuhs” (actually being more southern myself), I know that “you all, or more correctly “ya’ll” is not an insult ever, unless the words that go with it are insulting.

   “You people” however can be damned insulting, or even worse “them” or “those people”….it was the left that created PC speak, and have pounded it into the heads of Americans ever since someone came up with “african-american” (the first PC I remember hearing), and making it so that the only people anyone could talk bad about is “caucasian-americans of the non-female gender that are not disadvangtaged or suffering from a childhood of neglect therefore being a victim”…rich white guys in other words.

   PC is BS…..and “you people” need to learn that fact and realize that worrying about another persons feelings should be way down on your list of what’s important to deal with in life.

   As for abandoning the death penatly or prisons, conservatives don’t think that liberals think we should abandon them…but it is liberals that whine about the death penalty and worry about “prisoners rights” being violated and whethere prison is too harse for them, not conservatives. We think they deserve what they get.

   As for the UN there is no repairing it at all. The UN is done and it should go.

9. Yeah that UN remark is why I could only go with 90% instead of the whole enchilada. You all, you folks, you people. Pray tell what is the difference? All three are nothing more than a method for addressing a group as opposed to a single individual. I am never going to agree that the expression “you people” is deraugatory under any circumstances, and I’m the liberal here! I think the whole concept of political correctness has been distorted and the expression bandied about too much. If I speak bluntly at work perhaps someone above me will think how unPC when what they mean is how undiplomatic or how untactful. There are some expresions though that will kill your career not maybe hurt it but kill it and those are the egregious characteraiztions based on stereotypying , racisism or sexism. Those I agree are unPC. The whole PC thing got blown out of hand seriously when entire jobs were created at companies called diversity specialist, counselors what ever. Colleges cashed in and ofered degrees or at least classes. But all of that is capitalism at work. What is amazing is that so many people bought in to it!
