I am a wife and a mom, and proud to be both. My husband is retired from the Navy, and I believe that our military forces are the best, the smartest, and the most honorable people in our country: we are blessed by their service.
I am, essentially, a fundamental evangelical Christian, but I enjoy rational, thoughtful debate on all issues. I know where I stand, and I’ll proclaim it, but I try not to condemn people who disagree with me. Except on essential issues of doctrine, I am fairly relaxed in others’ views, and enjoy hearing the “other side of the story.”
Politically, I am a conservative-libertarian: I prefer traditional values and behavior, but if you aren’t hurting anyone but yourself, I’m probably not going to get too worried if you disagree with me, as long as you are rational and courteous. I want the government off my back and out of my business, and I think judges should stick with what the letter of American law says, and not what they want it to say.
I am opinionated, but I generally try to state those opinions in a way which encourages discussion. I like learning from people, but prefer not to learn that some people can only spew 1) invective 2) the party line 3) irrational ravings which have nothing to do with the topic at hand. Intelligent, courteous debate will get my respect and attention.
I think my family is the best, and I am blessed with many people and neighbors who I include in my family.
Finally, I believe that the USA is currently the moral leader of the world, even though we are not perfect. We have the motivation, the drive, and the ability to carry democracy to the rest of the world. No other country, at this time, has the power and the moral call to help lead the world into freedom and democracy. I pray that we will act so that God may continue to bless us with leadership of the world. I will support men and women, of whatever political stripe, who uphold the Constitution in honor, and fight to protect our land from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
